Background of the Study
Adolescence is critical phase of human development, characterized by rapid physical,
emotional, and social change. It is a time of exploration, self-discovery, and the formation of
personal identity. However, amidst the excitement and challenges that accompany this
transitional period, one issue stands out as particularly complex and impactful teenage
pregnancy.

the multifaceted aspect of this pressing societal concern, shedding light on its causes,
consequences, and potential solution. In this comprehensive exploration, we aim to provide a
deeper understanding of the unique challenges faced by teenage mothers and fathers, their

Teenage pregnancy, defined as pregnancy occurring between the ages of 14 and 19, has
far-reaching implication for the individuals involve and society at large. The physical and
emotional well-being of the pregnant teenager is at stakes, as they faces increase health risk and
are thrust into the complex world of parenthood prematurely. Educational attainment, economic
opportunities, and future prospect and may also be adversely affected, perpetuating a cycle of
limited social mobility.
Moreover, teenage pregnancy impact families, school, healthcare systems, and
communities. Its poses challenges in term of providing adequate support, comprehensive sex
education, and access to healthcare services. Tackling the issue requires a holistic approach that
encompasses prevention, intervention, and support systems to empowered young parents and
prevent further instance of teenage pregnancy.
By examining the underlying factors contributing to teenage pregnancy such as
socio-economic conditions, cultural influences, and lack of comprehensive sex education, we can
begin to address the root causes and implement effective strategies for prevention. This book will
explore evidence-base intervention, policies and program that have shown promise in reducing
teenage pregnancy rates and supporting young parents.

Teenage pregnancy is a global issue that effects millions of young girls around
the worlds. It encompasses a range of emotion, from surprise and fear excitement and
uncertainty for the teenagers facing this reality path ahead becomes riddled with obstacle
that demand resilience, courage and a support systems that understands their distinct
circumstance.

Missouri to promote adolescent sexual and reproductive health.
VISION
Our vision for teenage pregnancy is a society where all adolescences
have the knowledge resources and support to make informed decisions
about their sexual reproductive health, empowering them to navigate
their adolescence without the burden of early parenthood. We envision a
future where teenage pregnancy rates decline significantly, and the
well-being and future prospects of young individuals are prioritize and
protected

Purpose
According to the Google here in Philippines teenage pregnancy numbers in rural areas
among the 17 regions of the country, North Mindanao had the highest percentage of women aged
15 to as 19 who have ever been pregnant at 10.9 percent. This was followed by davao Region
with 8.2 percent, and Caraga with 7.7 percent
In 2022, the Philippines posted 5.4 percent among women aged 15 to 19 years have ever
been pregnant, about 1.6 percent of them were currently pregnant, and less than one percent [0.4]
have had pregnant loss. By area of residence, the percentage of women age 15 to 19 years who
have ever been pregnant was slightly lower urban areas {4.8%} than in rural areas {6.1%}.
Across regions X-Northern Mindanao {10.9%} had highest percentage of women aged
15 to 19 years who have ever been pregnant followed by Region XI-Davao Region {8.2%,}
Central Luzon {8.0%}, and Caraga {7.7%}. The lowest percentage of teenage pregnancy were in
Region I-Ilocos Region {2.4%} and Region V-Bicol Region {2.4%}.
In term of wealth quintile, the percentage of teen women who ever been pregnant
decrease with increasing wealth quintile. About one {1} in every 10 women aged 15 to 19 years
in the “poorest” quintile {10.3%} have ever been pregnant while 1.8 percent of women in the
“wealthiest” quintile have ever been pregnant.
The 2022 National Demographic and health Survey {NDHS} is seventh Demographic
and health survey conducted in the Philippines since 1993 as part of DHS program. A total of
27,821 women aged 15 to 49 years from 30,372 sample households were successfully interview
in the 2022 NDHS. The 2022 NDHS provide estimates at the national level, for urban and rural
areas, and for each of the 17 regions in the Philippines. A comprehensive analysis of the data
will be presented in final report in 2023.
The 2022 NDHS was implemented by the Philippine Statistic Authority. The funding
for the survey was provide by the Government of the Philippines, while the provision of
handheld tablets for data collection was supported by the Commission of Population and
Development. ICF provided technical assistance through The DHS program, a USAID-funded
project providing support and technical assistance in the implementation of population and health
surveys in the countries worldwide.
Teenage pregnancy most common among those who reached or finished primary
education by educational attainment, teenage pregnancy was common {19.1%} among women
age 15 to 19 years who reach of finished primary education {Grade levels 1-6} in 2022. The
decreased by 12.7 percentage points from 31.8 percent in 2017
Junior high {Grades 7-10} decreased from 9.1 percent in 2017 to 5.3 percent in 2022. However,
senior {Grades 11-12} high school levels recorded an increase from 2.6 percent to 4.8 percent.
Same with senior, pregnant college women teenagers increased from 1.4 in 2017 to 1.9 in 2022
Generalization
Our project will around 100,000 to 1,000,000 pesos. We need the help of the health care expert
and we need the help of the government to these cases, to prevent early teenage pregnancy and
also need condoms, birth control pills, the patch and vaginal ring it will be given or taken at the
nearest health care center in each place. Also to express our gratitude to everyone who helped
with our projected and to prevent these serous cases of our community.
