    CHROMBRAL 4
    Covering agent for use in the melting of chrome-containing copper and copper alloys
    Product Description CHROMBRAL 4 is a covering agent in powder form used in the melting of chrome bronzes and
    other chrome-containing copper alloys. It is also suitable for chrome-alloyed, highly-conductive
    copper.
    CHROMBRAL 4 creates a very liquid protective cover that prevents the absorption of hydrogen,
    sulphur or other undesired elements. It also effectively suppresses the formation of oxides.

    Benefits CHROMBRAL 4 does not contain any components which could introduce any undesired
    elements into the melt. It causes no impairment to the electrical conductivity or other physical
    or mechanical properties of the chrome-copper alloy.

    Application CHROMBRAL 4 is added as soon as the initial liquid phase forms in the melting furnace. It is
    important for all furnace types that the liquid cover remains intact during the entire melting
    period so that the melt is completely covered. Further CHROMBRAL 4 must be added if the
    cover is broken or if it thickens excessively.
    SLAX 20 is recommended to thicken the liquid dross and facilitate its removal.

    Crucible care:
    Always carefully clean any residues from crucible walls before refilling to get the best lifetime
    of Foseco crucibles.

    Addition Rate Up to 1 % of the metal weight. As the required dosage quantities depend to a great extent on
    operating conditions (charge method, metal type) only approximate addition rates are given.
    In most cases less quantity is required than that stated.

    Suitable for all chrome-containing copper alloys and all furnace types
    Application temperature: all normal melting temperatures

    Packaging 25 kg polyethylene lined multi-ply paper sacks

    Storage & Shelf Life Like all fluxes, CHROMBRAL 4 should be stored in a dry place.
    Close opened bags or storage bins securely after use.
    This product has no expiry date if stored in accordance with the recommendations above.
