LESSON

Selling Products Based on Needs and Demands in the Community

Sellers could offer products in the community based on existing needs and demands. Examples of these products
include the following.

1. Bottled water is one of the most in demand products in the


community that can provide a solution to the need.

2. Used clothing commonly known as ukay-ukay business offers

imported products and sometimes overruns sold at a lower


price.

3. Street foods such as fish balls, siomai and assorted kakanin


can be sold the whole day which are also offered at a lower price.

4. Baked products such as pandesal, ensaymada, loaf bread,


cakes and other pastries are equally saleable.

Among the products that are always in demand are food items. Basic needs of the families in the community such as
food, clothing and shelter should be the basis of the sellers to gain more profit.

In selling products based on needs and demands in the community we have to remember some strategies to get buyers attention and
be able to sell more products.

1. Display merchandise attractively.

2. Make products and other services accessible to buyers.

3. Create buying more excitement.

4. Improve marketing strategies and campaigns to reach buyers more effectively.

5. Get to know your buyers.


6. Demonstrate a good reputation.

7. Make prices reasonable to help customers afford what you are selling

8. Know how to use the high-tech world professionally

9. Get involve in the community that supports your business.

Remember: Knowledge of the needs of people helps entrepreneurs market their


products and services. Products and services are bought and paid because they
satisfy the needs and wants of customers.
