With the invent of LPG (Liberalization, privatization and globalization) we have reached a threshold of
information explosion with constant proliferation of knowledge. Technological advancements are occuring at
break-necking speed and everyone is striving to cope up with it. Our current globalized world is highly working
on the 'participate or perish' policy so that only the best will be able to survive. With this aim in mind we have
designed this seminar to amalgamate experts from higher institutions of national repute and importance to
enlighten our students about the current scenario of NLP in the field of computing and the relevance of various
scheduling schemes in the area of parallel and distributed systems.
Natural Language Processing is a branch of Artificial Intelligence dealing with analyzing, understanding and
generating languages used by humans naturally to interface with computers in written and spoken form in
place of computer languages.
Scheduling is an activity of the process manager of an OS that handles removal of currently running process
from the CPU and selection of another process based on some strategy. In Parallel computing many
calculations are executed simultaneously, based on the principle that large problems can be divided into
smaller ones, which can be solved simultaneously. Distributed computing involves software system where
components located on different computers communicate to coordinate their actions on a network to achieve a
common goal.
