2. WARNING - INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND USER RESTRICTIONS
POWER- ON
Before turning-on the device, please perform all the necessary connections according to local regulations in place.
Some parts are connected to the power supply.
• The wiring and the up keeping have to be carried out by powering off the device.
• The non-observance of it may cause death risk. Please make sure that there is no accidental connection.
• Please make sure that the power supply to which the device is connected is in conformity with the label’s
data (nominal values) before connecting it.
• The installation of the device must be performed by an authorised service provider or certified electrician
only.
• In case of doubt about the metering’s safety, please do not use it and replace it.
PROTECTION
Please make sure that all the accessible metallic parts, which can become live in the event of an insulation fault are
permanently and reliably connected to the device’s earthling terminal.
Also please make sure that the machine’s earthling terminal is connected to an efficient earthling protection.
EXTERNAL COMPONENTS
The insertion of external components on the board, necessary to ensure an adequate reduction of the interference,
shouldn’t have to affect the device’s safety, i.e. they have to be of adequate type and value.
COMPONENTS
In case of necessity, we reserve the right to substitute electronic parts with alternative components, having the same
electrical data and standards.
SOFTWARE
In case of necessity we reserve the right to amend the described procedures during the software’s engineering phase,
in order to simplify an easier or more user-friendly usage of the device or a more coherent development of the
software, without modifying the device’s functional aspects.
WIRING
The board’s wiring has to be performed considering the necessity of keeping the low-tension cables separated from
the high tension ones.
The device has to be placed far from other equipment, like pumps, solenoid valves, remote-control
switches, motors in general, neon lamps, as their functioning could affect the electromagnetic ambient.
AMBIENT
The device has to be placed as far as possible from heating sources and from excessive humidity, or where there
might be, for any reason, any condensation forming.
DIRT
The board inside the machine has to be adequately protected against dirt. As per definition "in general, the interior of
an appliance having a reasonably dust-proof enclosure is considered to be protected against deposition of dirt" (EN
60335-1).
SUPPRESSORS
In case remote-control switches and/or solenoid valves are used, it may be useful to place a varistor on their coil to
limit tension peaks, which may arise during switching over. The worst the boards’ operating ambient is protected
against humidity, high temperature and dirt (dust, dust soaked with other substances, condensation…), the most
important this solution is.
Pagina 3
NET FILTER
In order to meet the requirements concerning the electromagnetic compatibility, it may be necessary to outfit the
device with a net filter outside the board.
In this case, some basic rules have to be complied with for its installation:
- the filter (if it is provided with a metallic body) has to be mounted on the device’s metallic frame with an electric
connection having a very low impedance ground wards.
- it must be mounted as tight as possible to the net cable inlet point, with short and well-distanced inlet and outlet
connections, to avoid coupling of interference among net, loading and equipment.
If the filter is mounted without following these indications, it can partially or completely lose its effectiveness.
LOADINGS’ PROTECTION
Please make sure that the loadings are protected against short-circuit by means of external devices.
PERFORMANCE
The boards’ ideal performance can be obtained at room temperature of about 25°C.
At substantial higher or lower temperatures, it might affect the precision or the performance.
To avoid damaging of some components, please remain within the 0…70°C range.
STORAGE
Do not leave the device stored in humid places.
Do not leave them directly exposed to sunrays or atmospheric agents.
In case of accidental falls, always check the system’s correct functioning.

3.3. EXPLAINATION “TIME LAG”
This new feature added, is linked to the operation of the grinder that is equipped with an activation switch for the porta-filter.
To enable, it must be activated in the menu programming. The delay time can be adjusted and is used to offer to the operator
the option to complete the shot if the grinding cycle was briefly interrupted to settle ground coffee in the porta-filter.
The grinder is operated in a different mode if the Enabling the time delay is activated or deactivated.
To activate the user mode “operation with activation switch”, the time of the time lag must be set 0.01 or higher (applies for
SCODY-II and SP-II only).
See Foto 1 below that explains the user mode with active “Time Lag”.

3.5. Grinding 1 or 2 cups (Time Lag active)
Select either T1 or T4 for 1 or 2 cups respectively. To start ad complete the grinding cycle, insert the porta-filter into
the porta-filter holder (see picture 1) and push the same against the activation switch to start the cycle. If the porta-
filter holder is properly adjusted it will hold the porta-filter in place (hands-free operation) and complete the shot
automatically.
(see Figure 3).

Example: 1 Cup
Once the grinding cycle is completed, the machine will return to Stand-by mode (see Figure 1 and 2).
In the “Time Lag Mode”, the grinding cycle can be briefly interrupted by pulling the porta-filter back from the holder.
The grinding cycle can be resumed and completed by re-inserting the porta-filter again as long as the symbol on
the top LH & RH side of the display is flashing. If porta-filter is not re-inserted in time, the grinder goes back to
Stand-by mode.
This time can be de- or increased in the set-up menu. Default setting is 5 sec.
