    Use this resource to help students distinguish between the sounds for the suffix “ed”.

    This pack includes:


    • A poster to help distinguish the three sounds of _ed.
    • A playing mat to separate words.
    • A recording sheet or worksheet to separate the words by writing.
    • 2 set of words to separate (30 long and 30 short vowel sounds).

    How to use this:


    • Use the poster to help students distinguish the three sounds of _ed.
    • Copy the playing mat on page 4 along with a set of words.
    • Students separate the words on the playing mat into three categories according to their
    sound that the “ed” makes.
    • Copy the recording sheet on page 8 for students to write the words from the task cards
    into the correct categories.
    • These are perfect for small groups or at a reading center.
