Important information to note before you start using your
Debit Card.
Please sign your card immediately on the signature
panel to avoid any misuse and/or financial loss

Your card is only for your use. Please do not hand it over
to anyone

Keep your card in a safe place, to avoid damage

Always ensure that the card is used in your presence,


when transacting at shopping outlets. Never sign an
incomplete sales slip

Memorise your Personal Identification Number (PIN).


Never write your PIN on anything, including the card
itself. Do not share your PIN with anyone, including
the bank staff

When selecting the PIN, avoid numbers that relate to


your personal information. For example, do not use your
phone number, birth date, etc. as your PIN

It is important that you review your bank statement on a


monthly basis. If you notice any error in your bank statement,
you should inform Standard Chartered Phone Banking at

What is a Debit Card?

A Debit Card is an internationally accepted Debit Card


that is linked to your Standard Chartered Bank Account,
allowing spending at shopping outlets, cash withdrawals
at ATMs and funds transfer.

What is the difference between a debit card and


a credit card?

A debit card is a “Buy Now Pay Now” option, while a


credit Card is a “Buy Now Pay Later” option. In a debit
card there is no monthly repayment, therefore no
interest is charged.

How do I make a purchase using my Debit


Card?

 At the payment counter, the cashier will “insert” the


card and give you the machine for transaction
authorisation

 Check the transaction amount and enter your PIN

 Once the transaction is complete, the amount will


be deducted from your Standard Chartered Bank
account

If, at any time, you face any problem regarding your


card, kindly call our Phone Banking service at

What if I have an error in my Account Statement?

If you notice any error in your bank account statement,


please inform Standard Chartered Phone Banking at
111-002-002 within 14 days of receiving the statement. In
order to check statement entries, retain all your sales
slips and printed receipts. This will help you keep a record
of all your transactions.

How long will it take for my bills to be processed?

Although bill payment via ATM is an online service,


we recommend that you pay your bills at least 2 days in
advance of the payment due date.
