    3. ABCD and DEFG are two squares. The perimeter of square ABCD is 36 cm and the area
    of triangle CDF is 54 cm2. What is the length of BE? (Solve by equation)
    Let the length of BE be y cm.
    (36÷4 + y) × (36÷4)
    2 = 54
    (9 + y)×9
    2 = 54
    (9 + y)×9 2 2
    2 ×9 = 54 ×9
    9 + y – 9 = 12 – 9
    y = 3
    4. Find the total area of the lateral faces of the solid.
    The total lateral surface area
    = (8m+ 3m +3m) ×2 ×10 m
    = 280m2

    What is the volume of water in the tank?
