    euphemism = polite words make something look positive

    directly = say exactly what you mean

    transition = when a person changes from one situation to another

    connotation = feelings suggested by a word

    deceptive = (lie) make someone believe something isn't true

    excessive = much more than necessary

    corporate = relating to big company

    reduction = decrease

    fire = to force someone leave the job

    compact = designed to be small and not waste space

    season = one of the four main times in the year

    community = group of people who live in same town

    afford = to have enough money for something

    salary = money that workers receive
