Advantage Engenharia Ltda

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Advantage Engenharia was founded in 2015 and is specialized in fast prototyping and pro-
duction of parts in composite materials (aramid, carbon fiber and fiberglass). We work on our
clients’ needs and provide engineering solutions to manufacture functional prototype and
composite parts. Our process includes vacuum bagging and other methods we’ve developed in
house to manufacture complex parts.

The manufacturing process and molding tools are discussed with our clients and to reach the
best results we can choose from 3D printed, machined or composite molds. This makes our
production process also effective for custom parts and low production volume.

Along those years Advantage Engenharia had developed and manufactured winglets, cowlin-
gs, air cooling system and fuel tanks in composite materials for aircraft. Some of our client’s
projects manufactured by us includes radomes, fairings, cowlings and kits to improve aerody-

Brazilian Space Agency - AEB

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Brazilian Space Agency has the competence to coordinate the space sector in Brazil. Currently,
the main objective of Brazilian Space Agency is to change the mindset of the sector in Brazil.
AEB is trying to bring the New Space´s behavior and environment to our industry. The focus is
not anymore on the government procurement, but it is in how the private sector can actively
participate in this sector. The space activities should not be restricted to a region or country.
It is a global value chain and the national’s companies could be a partner of this international
supply chain.

Also, AEB are making efforts to build a friendly regulatory and commercial´s environment
that could attract companies to do business and to install their facilities in Brazil. The Brazi-
lian Space Act will regulate all the commercial operations and provide the legal certainty that
the companies needed to operate here. This document will be sent to Congress this year.

AEB and The Brazilian Air Force are working to prepare the Alcantara Space Center (CEA) for
commercial uses. It is important to distinguish the terms CEA and CLA. The Alcantara Laun-
ching Center (CLA) is a military organization that provide the infrastructure and some of the
required services from the CEA.

The CEA is a virtual or fantasy name to operate the commercial activities from CLA. This Cen-
ter is formed by a set of infrastructure and services used to launch space vehicles from CLA
and by the radars from the Barreira do Inferno Launching Center (CLBI), located in Natal, Rio
Grande do Norte. The CEA will start to operate at 2021.

The insurance of the Space Activity Operator License is a legal assignment of the AEB like the
authorization issued by the FAA in the USA. Also, AEB is responsible for the safety regulations
and licensing process for space activities.

Barreira do Inferno Launch Center (CLBI)

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Barreira do Inferno Launch Center (CLBI) is the Brazilian Air Force facility dedicated to su-
borbital flights, high-performance unmanned aerial systems and, potentially, nanosatellites
launching. The Center provides several resources and competitive characteristics for space
operations, for instance: excellent logistics, geographic location close to the Equator line, two
rocket launch pads, research facilities and world-class telemetry and tracking equipment.
Also features great availability for launches during the year, due to tropical climate, which
presents well defined wet and dry seasons with minimal duration of rainy periods; and the
wind, which presents mostly adequate speeds and blows predominantly from southeast. This
Center has accumulated five decades of experience in assembly, launch and tracking of subor-
bital vehicles; and in tracking services for the European Space Agency vehicles launched from
French Guiana, such as Ariane, Vega and Soyuz rockets.

Brazilian Development Bank - BNDES

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

BNDES – the Brazilian Development Bank – is wholly owned by the Brazilian Government.
The Bank is the main provider of long term financing for investment projects. It provides
various instruments – grants, venture capital funds, corporate credit – to support research
development and innovation, manufacturing capacity, and acquisition of Brazilian aeros-
pace equipments in the domestic and international markets.

The involvement of BNDES with the aerospace sector became more prominent after Em-
braer was privatized in 1994. The Bank played an important role financing the final stage
of the development of the Embraer Regional Jet (ERJ-145) as well as offering competitive
export credit for regional airline companies which were interested in buying it. Since then,
BNDES is considered one of the main export credit agencies in the world, having financed
over USD 23 billion supporting exports of Brazilian manufactured aircraft.

Besides its strategic importance for national defense and security, the aerospace sector is
an important diffuser of innovation across various economic sectors and requires an over
qualified labour which is an important asset for the country. Given those features, BNDES
is permanently assessing innovation and productive investment opportunities in the Bra-
zilian aerospace sector.
