resistance is 20 ohm. Find the resistivity of this material. (0.4 ohm meter)
2. Calculate the resistance of copper wire of length 50m and 1mm diameter. Given the
resistivity of copper is 1.7 x 10-8 ohm meter. (1.08 ohm)
3. Resistance of a conductor of length 1m and cross section area 1nm2 is 8 ohm. Find the
specific resistance of this conductor. (8 x 10-6 ohm meter)
4. A copper wire of resistance R is cut into 5 equal parts. Find the ratio of original resistance
to the net resistance of these 5 parts connected in parallel. (25:1)
5. How can two resistors of resistance 5ohm and 10 ohm be connected to a battery of emf 6V
so as to obtain (i) maximum current and (ii) minimum current. Determine the current in both
cases and find their ratio.
6. N resistors of equal resistance are first connected in series and then in parallel. Find the
ratio of total resistance in series to parallel.
7. For the given circuit find the total resistance and total current. (R=14/3 Ohm , I= 1.2 A)

8. An aluminum wire of resistance R is pulled to 4 four times it’s original length. Find the ratio of
new resistance to the original. (16:1)

9. What is the minimum resistance that can be obtained by using 5 resistors each of 1/5 ohm.
10.
11. 10. Graphs b/w electric current and P.D across 2
conductors P and Q are plotted as shown . Which of
them has more resistance?

diameter are shown in the figure. Which one of the following wire has the highest resistivity?
