    I went shopping with my mum last weekend because I wanted to get a new pair of

    Last week, Harry had an accident and fell off his bike while he was cycling in the park. He hurt
    his leg very badly and he couldn’t walk by himself. His mum was worried about this and said
    they ought to go to hospital. She carried him to the car and they drove there together. At the
    hospital, the doctor said Harry needed to have an x-ray.
    Did you know that the x-ray was invented in 1895 by a German doctor? Doctors use x-rays to
    discover if a patient has got broken a bone. After Harry had had his x-ray, the doctor looked at it
    carefully. ‘Oh dear,’ he said. ‘I’m sorry, but you’ve broken your leg, Harry. I’ll put a special plaster
    on it now, and you must avoid walking for some time.’ ‘Great!’ answered Harry. ‘I don’t mind
    staying at home for a while. I’ll watch that new reality TV show.’ ‘Wait a minute, Harry,’ said
    Mum. ‘I thought you’d be disappointed if you missed your lessons at school, so Grandpa can
    teach you. Don’t forget – he used to be a primary school teacher!’.
