    A Test Medium (Pneumatic & Associated Leak Tests)

    The test medium used for pneumatic test is inert gas.


    Note 1: Oxygen and other flammable or toxic gases are prohibited GI-002.102,

    Note 2: Inert gas come from an approved source and have Para. 5.1.3.3.
    certificates to attest to their purity and quality.

    Air Purity for compressor supplied air is verified by checking filter

    B Bubble Solution (for Leak Testing)

    During a pneumatic pressure test a leak test shall be performed in


    SAES-A-004,
    B1 accordance with ASME SEC V Article 10 and Article 10 Appendix I except
    Para. 5.8.3
    the pressure shall be 5 – 10 psi

    C APPROVAL FOR PNEUMATIC TEST

    Pneumatic strength testing is not permitted without written approval of:


    a) Inspection Department/Inspection Engineering Unit (IEU) Supervisor for
    operating facilities.
    SAES-A-004,
    C1 b) Inspection Department/Project Inspection Engineering Support Unit
    Para. 5.4.2
    (PIESU) Supervisor for projects.
    unless specifically allowed by this standard or the referenced Saudi
    Aramco SAESs.
