METHODOLOGY
THE REASON WHY WE CHOOSE THIS TOPIC
Oral presentations are becoming increasingly
important for students
That skill is required in almost every course and in
university environments
Students had few opportunities to practice
presentations
Second-year HUFLIT students may lack skills in
presentation
Our research will provide proper solutions to address
these problems and help second-year students
overcome their difficulties.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Jessica Cook (2018): ''An oral presentation is similar to giving a speech but is usually not just
a person behind a lectern. Visual aids and teaching tools are used to further enhance the
spoken words. An oral presentation can be given as an individual or as part of a group. It
also might add components of technology, such as a slide show, video clip, or audio
recording. ''
Inclusive Learning Community, Nanjing Internation School: ''An oral presentation is a
method of communicating information verbally supported by images, visual aids and/or
technology. The information can be delivered as group discussions, speeches, debates and
class presentations. Presentations can be delivered individually or as part of a group.''
Patricia Williamson, Academic Writing Skill (2021): ''An oral presentation differs from a
speech in that it usually has visual aids and may involve audience interaction; ideas are
both shown and explained. A speech, on the other hand, is a formal verbal discourse
addressing an audience, without visual aids and audience participation.''.
DEFINITION
To sum up, based on the three definitions above, we can see that the
common point of oral presentations is the use of verbal communication
along with supporting tools to create an utter presentation and also help
interaction with the audience.
