1. What should the cover have and why?
A good cover should have the ability of hooking the reader and catch his/her attention in a few words. The cover is the first thing that people will see in the article. Also, you must use an appropriate vocabulary that can be easy to understand for everyone. With this, you can get anyone’s attention just with a very well elaborated cover. 2. What is the table of contents and how to create it? A table of contents, as its own name indicates, it’s a table showing all the chapters that will be seen in the article. It is usually organized by the order in which every part appears in the text. You can create your own table of contents. First, you must select a topic that you’re going to talk about in the essay. It could be easier to divide the information into smaller pieces that will be included in the text. Then, you have to organize every chapter so everything can be in the correct place. You should also include an Intro, and put it right on the top of the table of contents. Give your chapters a place in the table, and there you have it! 3. What is the introduction and what should be included in it? The introduction, as its very own name indicates, introduces you to the main topic of the text. A good introduction must hook the reader, and, in a few lines, give a good reason to stay until the end. To do this, you can give a brief explanation about what will be analyzed and/or discussed during the rest of the essay. 4. How and when to do the research? Research is a very important element when writing. You can use it when you want to support your ideas with evidence, or just if you want to add something. Also, remember that, if you’re going to research, it’s very important to cite the sources you took the information from, because all the ideas aren’t yours. Make sure to find reliable sources, or also use books, which can also be important. 5. What is the content and how to write the important information to make your writing interesting for readers? The content is the section that actually shows the ideas and points of view about the subject in a text. To simplify, just try not to write a lot, and don’t include anything that won’t be interesting. Instead, use words and vocabulary that can be easy to understand for everyone, and expose the most important information. 6. What is the conclusion and what should be included in it? The conclusion is the final stage in a text. It shouldn’t be so long. Conclusion doesn’t show more information, but it must give a little review about the analyzed in the essay. 7. What is the cited work and how to cite in MLA format? Cited work is a section in which you have to cite every source you found information from. To do a citation in the MLA format, you have to cite following this order: Author (If there’s only one author, start by writing his/her last name. If there are two authors, do the same, except with the last one, whose first name will be mentioned before the last name). Title of the source. Title of the container. Contributor. Version. Number. Publisher. Publication date. Location. Date of access.
These elements aren’t always going to be present, so if any of them
doesn’t appear when doing the citation, that element is left out.
