• Include science and social studies.

• Our l a n d s c a p e in which we live is mountain, river, forest,

etc. which is modified by humans.

• D u e to the increase in population these resources are getting

d ep leted gradually

• But our needs like food, and w a te r depend on the

existence of natural landscapes in good condition.

• If we continue to use natural resources in an

uncontrolled manner it will affect nature negatively.
Scope of Environmental Science
• Conservation of nature and natural resources.

• Conservation of biological diversity.

• Control of environmental pollution.

• Stabilization of h u m a n population and environment.

• Social issues in relation to development and environment.

• Development of a non-polluting renewable energy s ys t e m

and providing a new dimension to nature’s security.
Scope of Environmental Science
• There is a need to understand and ma k e ourselves aware of
our natural assets and get concerned about our environment
and sustainable utilize the resources.

• The s cope of environmental studies is very wide and nearly

covers s o m e aspects of every major discipline (biology,
chemistry, physics, geography, resource management,
economy, etc.)

N e e d for Public A w a r e n e s s

• Pollution of different types (soil, air, water) is

growing day by day

• Awareness of these problems is

necessary to develop a sense of
responsibility and ethics a mo n g people

• This will help to tackle the challenges

related to the environment
