Advancement in Technology and downfall in
Health & Relationships
As technology continues its rapid growth, ushering in an era of all-round
connectivity and convenience, there is a growing concern about the simultaneous decline in overall health. Despite the promises of innovation improving our lives, there's a paradoxical relationship between the rise of technology and the fall of our well-being. With technology assisting people in their sphere, humans are getting over-dependent and less responsible for themselves. There are various elements visible in mankind that are offspring of technological advancement. Sedentary Lifestyles and Obesity. One of the most dreadful outcomes of the innovative upset is the shift towards inactive ways of life. The predominance of cell phones, PCs, and real-time features has prompted a decline in active work. Whether it's marathon watching Programs, working in a work area for broadened hours, or taking part in perpetual looking via web-based entertainment, the stationary idea of these exercises adds to an ascent in corpulence rates. The absence of standard activity negatively affects cardiovascular well-being, digestion, and general wellness. High Screen-time And Low sleep time. The all-round availability of screens in our lives has led to a significant increase in screen time, especially among younger generations. Excessive screen exposure, particularly before bedtime, disrupts the natural sleep cycle. The blue light emitted by screens interferes with the production of melatonin, a hormone crucial for regulating sleep. Even though the use of computer glasses may help high screen time badly affects the human sleep pattern. Sleep deprivation as a product of prolonged screen usage, has more mental problems than physical ones like anxiety, agitation, disorders, and so on. Mental Health Challenges. While technology has facilitated communication and access to information, it has contributed to a rise in mental health challenges. Social media platforms, despite connecting people across the globe, contribute to a culture of comparison, cyberbullying, and anxiety. The constant access to curated, idealized lives on social media platforms ( which sometimes prove to be fake) can lead to the development of feelings of lacking something and low self-esteem, impacting mental health negatively. Blue Light and Eye Problems Optical problems are also a result of this. Prolonged use of screens leads to complexities such as eye fatigue, headaches, and blurred vision. The blue light emitted by screens badly affects sleep quality. With individuals spending more time on screen for work, education, and entertainment, the importance of eye health become a growing concern. No More Physical Touch to Relationships. Even though technology has filled the oceans and stretched the distance between people, it has changed the nature of face-to-face social interactions. The convenience of texting and online communication can lead to decreased in-person socializing. Any level of digital presence and friendship can fall short when compared to physical interaction. The importance of genuine human connection for mental and emotional well-being cannot be overstated. The decline in physical social interaction may contribute to feelings of loneliness and isolation. The virtual interactions seem to replace the tangible ones but only to impact overall health. To Sum up. Growth is a part and parcel of mankind and cannot be lived without. However, it can be determined how it can affect the life, and health of humans. From sedentary lifestyles and sleep disruption to mental health challenges, the negative side of the process is visible. Striking a balance between harnessing the benefits of technology and nullifying its adverse effects is necessary to promote an all- round well-being in the digital age. To sum up it’s to say that we have an element in our hand, and to use it to thrive the human existence and make it joyful or to mitigate the same is also in the same hands. .
