COMMUNITY PROJECT PROPOSAL

CLEAN-UP DRIVE PROJECT

Sigiran para sa Kalinisan ng Kapaligiran

I.INTRODUCTION
Most people claim to care for the environment, but what people care for and the
motives for their concern are vastly different. People see the environment as a
"common" that is open to anyone being overused and deteriorated. For
immediate personal gain, individuals continue to manipulate the environment,
ignoring the long-term consequences of their behavior. Sustaining the environment
helps prevent global warming and climate change. One example of the
sustainability of the environment is simply cleaning. Environmental cleanliness adds a
lot to keeping a clean and green environment. An easy but beneficial way to improve a
safe environment is cleaning. Sigiran is a youth-led organization founded by a
group of college and high school students from Solana. The organization aims to
foster a community with a sense of responsibility by empowering young people
through projects and campaigns. We want to help the barangay stay clean and
have an environment that is favorable to every person living in the barangay since we
want a liter-free environment and a tree-filled environment.

II.PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Our team will conduct a clean-up drive in every area of the barangay every
month. We are going to have a competition as well. The duty of each purok is to
maintain cleanliness in their area. In the said event, the residents of each purok are
expected to participate. One purok will be declared winner with the cleanest
environment at the end of the month and will receive an award. Sigiran will also make
‘gulayan sa barangay’ to promote organic vegetable farming among barangay
residents. The money from selling waste materials would be used to purchase
seedlings for tree planting activities. The team will also organize different events
every month. This project deals with numerous activities that would raise
awareness of different aspects, from a clean-up drive operation, to the fundraising
scenario and eventually the tree planting.

III.BENEFICIARIES
The Clean-up Project, Sigiran para sa Kalinisan at Kapaligiran focuses on all
members of community of Dassun, Solana, Cagayan.
IV.OBJECTIVES
To promote environmental awareness.
Encourage the residents about the proper waste segregation.
Improve the outdoor recreational activities of the residents of
Barangay Dassun, Solana,Cagayan.
To promote waste reduction, recycling and reuse and create
public awareness on waste management and environmental
concerns.
Inform the residents to know the importance of cleaning the
environment.
Teach fun and easy way of recycling plastic materials.

V. METHODOLOGY
The key strategy for the project's progress is the division of labor and concrete
work plan. The team has the following strategies to accomplish that:
 The team is divided into three groups (in accordance to the activity) and
is then again subdivided into factions (documentation, logistics
and communication) in which every member has assigned tasks so
that the project will work efficiently.
 The Clean-Up Drive activity will be done every month. The
barangay
with the cleanest surroundings will receive an award and a
banner for recognition.
 With the clean-up drive activity, the collected funds from selling
waste materials will be used in buying plants and seedlings for
the tree planting activity.
 The tree planting will be held at different barangay.
 The team will also make call for donations to raise funds.

VI.EXPECTED OUTCOMES
The expected outcome of the Sigiran para sa Kalinisan ng Kapaligiran,
is for the residents to introduce and become aware of the importance of
proper waste disposal and maintaining cleanliness in their area. The prospect
of the clean-up drive project focuses on the engagement of waste
segregation, waste disposal and tree planting and discourage residents
in burning plastics. People can segregate biodegradable products, apply
the 3R's (reduce, reuse, recycle) and implement the "clean and green"
concept in order to have a safe environment that is necessary for a
healthy life.

VII.PLAN OF WORK
The same strategy is also shared by the three activities. But, depending
on what type of activity it is, it has a different method of execution. It was
determined that a minimum of two to three meetings should take place per
operation. It can be done by assigning a certain activity to its particular
implementation date. The work plan goes like this:

1st meeting-Preparation

1.Call for donations.

2.Making tree guards, trash-cans and placards.
3.Initiation of the project.

2nd meeting-Implementation

1.Initiation of project.
2.Report the developments and tackle concerns.

3rd meeting-Progress Evaluation

1.Final initiation of program.
2.Final report of developments and other existing matters.
