A parent’s first line of communication, concerning their child’s academic performance and emotional
well-being, is your child’s register teacher. Please ensure that the register teacher has all your
correct contact details. If your child is not living with you, please ensure that the register teacher is
aware of this fact, as this enables them to keep you as well as the caregiver fully informed.
Late picking up of your child: Please inform your child’s class teacher should you be late
collecting your child from school. No learner may be left at school unsupervised. Primary school
learners may no longer be left at school without prior arrangements having been made with their
register teacher. If you can only collect your child late in the afternoon, you will have to enrol them
in the aftercare program.
This arrangement has only been made in your child’s best interest and safety. When teachers leave
school in the afternoons (Mondays to Thursdays at 15:30 and Fridays at 13:00), your child will have
7.5. Uniform.
The full Curro uniform is to be worn daily. Please refer to the Curro website or MyHub to view the
uniform specifications. Learners will only be allowed to wear the Curro Physical Education clothes
on the days that they have PE. If they do not have the correct Curro PE clothes they must come to
school in their uniform, change for PE and then change back into their uniform. We need to instill a
sense of pride in our school and our uniform, and this can only be done if parents assist us.
All items of clothing must be clearly marked with the learners’ names and surnames. Only if items
are marked, are we able to return them to their rightful owners, otherwise they are taken to the lost-
and-found and added to the ever-growing mountain of lost items.
There is a clothing store on campus, Rewind Clothing Store, located in the primary school building,
where you are able to purchase both new and second-hand clothing. Please contact Ms Retha
Notely, via email on retha@retmil.co.za or 082 495 9414 / 082 227 9897, should you require further
assistance.
7.7 Stationary
Stationery can be ordered online, per grade, through Waltons. Please find the process letter on the
next page. The stationery list only includes the basic stationery required, as stationery/resources
become depleted through the year, your child’s register teacher will inform you of the required items
needed. Contact your class teacher for any other stationery enquiries.
Textbooks and workbooks are ordered by the school and will be issued to learners during the first
week of school. Please note that the cost thereof will be billed to the parents’ school account.
7.9 Sport
All sport is arranged and coordinated by our sports coordinator Mr. Sabata Masehle. All sporting
codes and details are sent to parents via email. All sports queries can be forwarded to
sabata.m@curro.co.za, or by calling the school office.
May our school always be a place where we as teachers, parents and children love to learn and
learn to love. I wish you all a wonderful holiday and happy festive season, filled with blessings and
God’s amazing grace. Be safe and enjoy the well-deserved rest.
Kind regards,
Mrs. C Slabbert
Head of Primary School
