MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET

1. PRODUCT: NATIONAL SWISS SANDTEX (TEXTURED COATING)

2. COMPOSITION / INFORMATION OF INGREDIENTS


Contains polymer emulsion, pigments, fillers, water and additives.

3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
No harmful effects with normal skin. However, potentially harmful amounts of material may be absorbed
across markedly damaged skin when contact is sustained, particularly with children.

From available information, no evidence of harmful effects on inhalation.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES


General: In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Eye contact: Flush with water at least 15 minutes.
Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water or use recognized skin
cleanser. Do N O T use solvents or thinners.
Ingestion: If accidentally swallowed obtain immediate medical attention. Keep at rest. Do NOT induce
vomiting.

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Extinguishing media: For residual solids use water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical, alcohol type foams
applied by recommended techniques.
Exposure to decomposition products may cause health hazard. Appropriate breathing apparatus may be
required.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES


Major spills should be collected for disposal. Minor spills may be flushed to sewer if local regulations permit.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE


Avoid breathing vapour. Use with adequate ventilation.
Storage conditions: Keep at temperatures between 0°C and 40°C.
Technical Protective Measures: No special Technical Protective Measures required.
Keep container closed.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONNEL PROTECTION
Workplace Hygiene: Keep away from food and drinks. Follow good industrial hygiene practice.
Protective Measures:
- Eye protection: Wear suitable safety glasses.
- Skin and body protection: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
- Respiratory protection: None required in normal use.
Other protective equipment: Eye bath and safety shower.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Stability: Stable.
Conditions to avoid: None
Incompatible materials: None
Hazardous combustion products: After evaporation of water, the polymer can burn and produce carbon dioxide
and carbon monoxide.
Reactivity: Will not occur.
11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Acute toxicity
Primary irritant effect:
On the skin: No irritant effect
On the eye: No irritating effect
Sensitization: Sensitization possible through skin contact
Additional toxicological information:
The product shows the following dangers according to the calculation method of the General EU Classification
Guidelines for Preparations as issued in the latest version:
Irritant
Carcinogenic.
Sensitisation May cause sensitization by skin contact.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION


General notes:
Water hazard class 3 (German Regulation) (Self-assessment): extremely hazardous for water
Do not allow product to reach ground water, water course or sewage system, even in small quantities.
Danger to drinking water if even extremely small quantities leak into the ground.

13. DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS


Do not allow into drains or watercourses.
Waste and emptied containers should be disposed of according to the local rules and legislation.

In accordance with the Dangerous Preparations Directive 88/379/EEC, no labeling is required.
