Concise Sadhana of Yeshe Tsogyal

2. Refuge and Awakened Mind
For the preliminaries of refuge and awakened mind, recite three times:
In my own pure awareness as the Wisdom Dakini,
I take refuge beyond coming together and separation.
The confused mind of unrealized beings clings to duality.
Thus, within natural great liberation, I arouse the awakened mind.
Thus, the preliminaries of refuge and awakened mind are completed.

AH MA CHÖ KA DAK DAY ZHIN NYI


AH! The state of being, just as it is, tathagata, is the unmodi ed,
primordially pure state.
LHÜN DRUP KÜN NANG NYING JAY TSEL
Its creative energy of compassion is naturally manifest and all-
illuminating.
SOR TOK YAY SHAY YI GAY BAM
BAM, the syllable of discerning wisdom,
KHA LAY JA TSÖN ZHIN DU SHAR
Rises like a rainbow in the sky,
Ö TRÖ MA DAK NGÖ DZIN JANG
Its radiating light puri es the impurity of grasping to substantiality.
NÖ CHÜ DAY CHEN PAY MA Ö
The universe and all beings become the Lotus Like pure realm of great
bliss.
NGO TSAR DAK PAY DRONG KYER Ü
At the center of its wondrous citadel of purity,
PAY MA NYI DAY DEN TENG DU
On a lotus-sun-moon seat,
RANG NYI YAY SHAY TSO GYEL YUM
I am Yeshe Tsogyal—
DAY TONG YER MAY KAR MAR DANG
With the rosy white complexion of inseparable bliss-emptiness;

Perfectly resplendent with the beauty of enlightenment's marks and
qualities;
TIK LAY NYAK CHIK ZHI DZUM ZHAL
Face, serene and smiling, the single sphere of totality;
TAP SHAY ZUNG JUK CHAK NYI KYI
Two arms, the unity of means and wisdom;
DAK TOK TSAY CHÖ DRI GUK DANG
Holding a curved blade which severs the root of self-identity;
NGÖ DRUP CHOK TSOL TÖ PA DZIN
And a skull-cup which bestows the supreme accomplishment.
ZHAP NYI NYAM PAY TAP KYI ZHENG
I stand evenly on both legs,
CHER MO DAR DANG RIN PO CHAY
Naked, yet adorned with various silks, jewels,
MAY TOK TRENG WA DU MAY GYEN
And a garland of owers.
CHI WOR TAP CHOK RIK KYI DAK
Above my crown, the Supreme Method, the Lord of the Enlightened
Lineage,
PAY MA GAR WANG THÖ TRENG TSEL
Pema Garwang Tötrengtsal,
DOR JAY DRIL DZIN LONG KÜ CHAY
With sambhogakaya ornaments and holding bell and vajra,
JA Ö ZER THIK LONG DU JI
Shines brilliantly in an expanse of rays and sphere of rainbow light.
DEN SUM KU YI KÖ PA LA
In the con guration of his body of the three seats,
TSA SUM GYEL WA RAP JAM KÜN
Lies an in nitude of jinas and Three Roots deities,
MA DRAY TIL GONG CHUR ZHIN DZOK
Distinct like the seeds of a sesame pod and perfectly complete. 9
DÖ NAY DAM YAY YER MAY PAI
All this is visualized as great primordial equal purity.

At the heart center, inside a hollow sun-moon amulet,

BAM, encircled by the turning mantra-garland,

Radiates light that pervades all matter, animate and inanimate.

All reality—its forms, sounds, and mental activities—
LA NGAK YAY SHAY RÖL PAR TA
I perceive as the display of deities, mantras, and primordial wisdom.
OM JNANA DAKINI BAM HA RI NI SA SIDDHI HUM
Reciting the mantra as much as possible

Essence Drop of Vitality


Inner Sadhana of the Dakini Kurukulle
For the main practice:
RANG SEM MA CHÖ TONG PAY TSAL
[From] my uncontrived mind [and] its dynamic energy of emptiness,
RIK PA HRI YIK THRO DU LAY
Pure awareness, as a HRI syllable, radiates and reabsorbs light.
RANG NYI WANG DZAY DHA KI NI
From HRI, I appear as the Magnetizing Dakini—
MAR SER NYI MA CHAR KHAY DOK
Red with a golden glow like the rising sun;
CHU DRUK LANG TSHO DZAY CHAK NYAM
Sixteen years of age, youthful and beautiful, with a passionate
expression;
PAY MAY CHAK KYU ZHAK PA DZIN
Holding a lotus hook and a lasso;
CHER MO UT PAL RAT NAY GYEN
Naked and adorned with utpala owers and jewels; 11
PAY NYIR GAR GYI GYUR BAK CHAY
Dancing on a lotus and sun, and
DAY DRÖ Ö PUNG LONG DU ROL
Manifest within a vast mass of light, the bliss-warmth of chandali.

At the heart center, above a sun disc, a red HRI
NGAK KYI KOR LAY BAR WAY Ö
Encircled by the mantra, blazes with light
PAK MAY ZHING KUN KYAB PAR THRÖ
That radiates forth, pervading all countless realms.
TEN YÖ NGÖ KUN WANG DÜ NAY
After magnetizing all matter, animate and inanimate,
THUK SOK LA THIM ZI JIN KYAY
It dissolves back into the heart center life-force syllable and generates
the majestic blessings
DAY TONG GYUR MAY LHEN CHIK KYAY
[Of] changeless co-emergent bliss-emptiness.
RANG DROL RANG WANG THOP PAR GYUR
Mastery of natural liberation is attained.

OM KURUKULLE HRI SOHA


Reciting the [mantra], settle in the expanse of primordial purity.
Without wavering from pure awareness [and] with deep con dence in the
view, [Poised] in the fundamental nature which is free of transition and
change, When stability in natural liberation is attained without
conceptualization, You will gain mastery over all the phenomena of existence

Profound Essence
Secret Dakini Sadhana

MI MIK TONG PAY NANG NYI LAY


Within the very nature of non-conceptual emptiness,
PAY NYI JAY MA DAY GYAY TRIR
Above a pedestal [supported] by those who send curses and by the
eight classes of gods and spirits who cause harm and above a lotus-
sun [seat],
RANG RIK HUNG MAR TRO DU LAY
My own pure awareness, a red HUNG, radiates and reabsorbs light

DÜ DÜL TRÖ MA SENG GAY DONG
And then [becomes] Singhamukha, the wrathful female subjugator of
negative forces.
MAR NAK TUM NGAM JIK PAY ZUK
Body dark red, wrathful, and frightful—
YU REL GYEN DZI SENG CHUNG TRO
Locks of turquoise hair streaming upwards and emanating tiny lions—
CHAK NYI DRI GUK TÖ DRAK DZIN
Two hands holding hold a curved blade and a skull cup of blood—
CHEN YÖN DOR JAY KA TRANG TEN
And in the crook of my left arm, a vajra trident.
DUR TRÖ CHAY GÖ RÜ GYEN TRAY
Adorned with charnel ground accouterments and bone ornaments—
YAY SHAY KAL MAY BAR WAY LONG
Within a blazing expanse of apocalyptic re,
GAR TAP GYING PAK TSÜL GYI RÖL
I am manifest with majestic dancing movements.
TUK KAR NYI DAY GA Ü BUP
At my heart center, inside a hollow sun-moon amulet box,
SOK GI NYING PO HUNG MAR TAR
A red HUNG, the essence of my life force,
NGAK KYI TRENG WA CHAK SEK DANG
Is encircled by the mantra garland glowing like red hot iron.
GAL MAY TA BUR KOR WA LAY
Whirling like a re-brand,
Ö ZER MAY PUNG TSA TSA TRÖ
It radiates sparks of light and ery masses.

DRA GEK JAY MA BÖ TONG KÜN


The body and speech aspects of enemies, obstructors, black
magicians, and sorcerers
LU NGAK TAL WAY ZHOP TU SEK
Are burned to ashes.
NAM SHAY MI MIK KA DAK NGANG
Their consciousness [rests] in the nature of non-conceptual primordial
purity—

[Everything] becomes the wheel of wisdom's luminosity.

Recite the fourteen-syllable subjugating mantra of the erce Dakini Like


tumultuous meteoric lightning, Uninterrupted by ordinary conversation.

AH KA SA MA RA TSA SHA DA RA SA MA RA YA
PHET
Protecting, reversing and overpowering, or any activity whatsoever, can be
achieved by this mantra alone. It is [Singhamukha’s] unique black poisonous
sword which annihilates the black magic of the three-thousandfold universe.

Innermost Secret Dakini Sadhana


Black Throma
This sadhana of the Dakini of co-emergent great bliss, the innermost
secret Vajrayogini, Black Throma, is the ultimate meaning of the
quintessential instructions of upadesha.

AH NAM TAR SUM DEN TONG PA NYI


AH [From] emptiness endowed with the three [gates of] liberation
DAY CHEN Ö SEL NYING JAY DANG
[And its] self-expression of compassion which is great bliss luminosity,
ZUNG JUK RIK PA BAM TING NAK
Pure awareness, their unity, appears as a blue-black BAM.
DAY LAY BAR WAY Ö ZER GYI
Its blazing light rays
KAM SUM TOK PAY ZHEN NANG JANG
Purify all the xating perceptions of conceptualization in the three
planes of conditioned existence
NANG SI CHÖ KYI JUNG NAY CHAY
[And] appearance-existence becomes the great dharmodaya.

In the center of a naturally arisen charnel ground immeasurable palace,
CHAK MAY PAY MA NYI DAY TENG
Upon a lotus of non-attachment and a sun-moon [seat],
DAK NYI GYEL KÜN KYAY PAY YUM
I arise as the Mother who births all buddhas,
DOR JAY TRÖ MA NAK MOR SHAR
Black Vajra Throma—
DÜ KYI MÜN TAR NAK PAY KU
My body is black like the darkness at the end of time,
TRÖ CHAK GEK PAY LANG TSO CHEN
Wrathful, passionate, enchanting, and youthful.
DRI GUK DANG NI TÖ DRAK DZIN
Holding a curved blade and a blood- lled skull cup,
KYANG KUM GAR GYI TANG TAP KYI
I stand in a dancing posture with one leg extended and one leg bent.
TOK MAY BAM RO DEN LA RÖL
Sporting on a human corpse-seat of non-conceptuality, 18
RÜ PAY CHAK GYA NAM NGA DANG
I am utterly resplendent, wearing the ve symbolic bone ornaments
DUR TRÖ CHAY KYI RAP TU JI
And charnel ground accoutrements.
CHEN YÜN TAP KYI KA TRANG CHANG
Holding the khatvanga of skillful means in the crook of my left arm,
Ü TRA GYEN DZAY REL SEP NA
My hair streams upwards and amid my locks,
PAK ZHEL NGUR DRAY SA SUM YO
The sound of a grunting pig’s head causes the three levels of
conditioned existence to tremble
YAY SHAY KAL MAY BAR WAY LONG
As I abide within a blazing expanse of apocalyptic wisdom re
SI SUM ZIL NÖN CHEN POR ZHUK
Which overpowers the three planes of conditioned existence with
splendor.

With their identifying emblems and ornaments are displaying their
dances.

Inside the citadel of my indestructible body,
NAY SUM PA WO KHAN DRO MA
At my three centers, the viras and dakinis
BUM TRAK YANG PAY KÜ PA KÜN
Appear in a vast array of hundreds of thousands.
MA KYAY YAY NAY LHÜN DZOK NGANG
All this abides uncreated and naturally complete from the beginning.
TUK KAR NYI DAY GA Ü BUP
In my heart center, inside a sun-moon amulet,
BAM TAR NGAK KYI KOR WA LAY
BAM is surrounded by the encircling mantra.
Ö TRÖ KOR DAY DANG CHÜ DÜ
Its radiating light collects the pure essence of cyclic existence and its
transcendence
DAK TIM CHAY WAY ZI JIN KYAY
Which dissolves into me and generates the majestic blessings of
greatness—
CHIR NANG YAY SHAY CHAK GYAR SAY
Whatever appears arises as the Wisdom Mudra;
DRAK TONG NGAK DRAY JIK TEN YO
Mantric sound, audible yet empty, causes the mundane worlds to
tremble;
DAY CHEN CHOK TU MI GYUR WA
[And] utterly unchanging great bliss,
Ö SEL GONG PAY TSEL DZOK GYUR
The realization of wisdom’s luminosity is perfected.

With the key points of this visualization, strive to recite the mantra like a owing
river. When the aspect of relative appearances is generated, recite the mantra in
great ultimate emptiness. When you attain indwelling con dence in unwavering
realization, the ultimate Throma will be actualized. Samaya!

HO DÜ SUM SAK PAY GAY TSOK KÜN
All virtues accumulated in the three times,
MIK MAY TA DRAL LONG DU NGO
Without conceptuality, I dedicate in the expanse that is free of limits.
KAM SUM KOR WAY SEM CHEN KÜN
May all unenlightened beings in the three realms of cyclic existence
DAK NYAM CHEN POR SANG GYAY SHOK
Awaken as buddhas in great equal purity.
Create auspiciousness with:
TSA SUM KHAN DRÖ JIN LAP TÜ
By the power of the blessings of the Three Roots and the dakinis,
DAK CHAK DRUP CHOK KOR CHAY KYI
For myself and the retinue of excellent practitioners,
GAL KYEN KÜN ZHI SAM DÖN DRUP
Pacify all unfavorable circumstances and ful ll our wishes.
DRO KAM DONG TRUK TRA SHI SHOK
May there be the auspiciousness of stirring the depths of unenlightened
beings.
With owers falling from the sky, everything is imbued with happiness
and excellence.

Lotus Lute
A Concise Ful llment of the Dakinis
HRI! In the Lotus Light assembly hall of great bliss,
The yogins are accomplishing great bliss.
The commitment substance, the great amrita of great bliss,

Dakini Queen of Bliss [Yeshe Tsogyal] and your retinue—
In the basic expanse of great bliss, may your wisdom wishes be

Sovereign Lord of the Enlightened Lineages, Immutable Light,
Amitabha—may your wisdom wishes be ful lled.
Tamer of all beings, treasure of compassion,
Avalokitesvara—may your wisdom wishes be ful lled.
Thötrengtsal, Skull-Garlanded Adept, overpowering cyclic existence
and perfect peace with splendor,
Pema Garwang, Lotus Lord of Dance—may your wisdom wishes be
ful lled.
Sovereign mother of basic space, supreme principal of the mandala,
Yeshe Tsogyal—may your wisdom wishes be ful lled.
Dancers of illusory displays that tame however necessary,
One hundred thousand dakinis—may your wisdom wishes be ful lled.
Masters of miraculous powers [performing] unobstructed enlightened
activity,
Oath-bound Dharma protectors—may your wisdom wishes be ful lled.
The sacred commitments of Vajrayana—
Whatever contradicting degenerations and violations I have committed,
I openly confess.
Outer, inner, and secret obstacles and obstructors—
Dispel them into the expanse of changeless wisdom luminosity.
The supreme and ordinary accomplishments—
Please perform the activity which ensures their accomplishment in this
life.

These three—appearances, sounds, and awareness—are the continual
state of deities, mantras, and dharmakaya,
