The Tipu Sultan Fort, also known as Palakkad Fort, is a historical fort located in Palakkad, Kerala,

India. It is one of the best-preserved forts in Kerala and holds significant historical and architectural
importance.

reinforced and maintained by his son, Tipu Sultan.

hands several times between the British and Tipu Sultan until it finally came under British control in
the late 18th century.

- **Square Plan**: The fort has a square design with bastions at all four corners and strong walls
made of granite stones.

- **Entrance**: The main entrance is on the northeast side, featuring a drawbridge that was once
