    EXPOI2 – Week 15

    UNIT IV: EMPLOYMENT

    BUSINESS COMMUNICATION: Talking about professional qualities, skills and experience

    I. Learning Outcome:

    This EXPOI2 will enable you to carry out straightforward tasks related to skills,
    which are your personal attributes that help you work toward your goals and
    efficiently work with others. Although each profession requires people with specific
    skills, talents and experience, every efficient employee should have general
    professional qualities. These qualities can help you show employers that you are a
    well-rounded individual. Those who are highly respected and admired in their roles
    exude professionalism.

    II. Task Description: Attending a job interview

    If you are looking for a job with many fringe benefits, you would probably want to
    work for a corporation. Corporations are typically large organizations that can afford
    to provide their employees with a wide range of additional perks or benefits, such
    as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. These are in addition to
    compensation received in the form of a regular salary or wages. On the other hand,
    small businesses such as sole proprietorships and general partnerships might not
    have the resources to offer as many benefits. Nonprofit organizations also typically
    cannot match the compensation package of larger, for-profit corporations.

    III. Presentation:

    • Number of participants: 4
    • Date: Week 15
    • Length of the conversation: 4 – 5 minutes
    • Students cannot read during the exposition
    • Try to use formal language and phrases taught in class
    • PPT is not required
    • Make sure you and your partner arrive in time

    and expectations for the EXPOI2, which identifies the various criteria
    relevant to the task and then explicitly states the possible levels of
    achievement.
