b) A two digit positive number is such that the product of its digit is 8. If 18 is added to the number, the digits
interchange their places. Find the number. (4)

c) A shopkeeper buys certain quantity of cashew nuts for Rs. 7200 and sells it to a consumer at a profit of 25%. If
the rate of GST is 5%, find the GST paid by the shopkeeper to the central government and the state government.

b) If a, b and c are in continued proportion, then prove that: abc (a + b + c)3 = (ab + bc + ca)3 (3)

c) Sanjana opens a R.D. account in state bank of India and deposits ₹ 800 per month for a period of 2 years. If the
rate of interest is 9% p.a., find the amount received at the end of 2 years. (2)

QUESTION- V (10)

a) ABC is a triangle and G (4, 3) is the centroid of the triangle. If A = (1, 3), B = (4, b) and C = (a, 1), find the values of
‘a’ and ‘b’. Find the length of BC. (4)

b) A rectangular mirror is 10 cm long and 8 cm wide. It is surrounded by a uniform wooden frame having a width
of x cm. obtain an expression in terms of x, for the area of the frame. If the area of the frame is 88 sq.cm, find x (3)

c) P is the solution set of 7x – 2 > 4x + 1 and Q is the solution set of 9x-45 ≥ 5 (x - 5); where x ∈ R. Represent:

i. P ∩ Q ii. P – Q iii. P ∩ Q’ on different number lines (3)
