Important Safety Information

Before using the boiler operation terminal EJ-210, ensure that this Operation Manual is read and fully
understood; furthermore, the instructions given herein should be strictly observed during operation.

Within the boiler operation terminal EJ-210, there are high-voltage sections that could lead to electric
shock. These sections may cause accidents involving loss of life, fire, etc., unless this equipment is
handled in an appropriate manner.

In order to ensure that tasks undertaken during operation and maintenance of the boiler operation
terminal EJ-210 can be completed safely, it is critical that all dangerous and hazardous parts of this
equipment be confirmed in advance. Here at MIURA, it is practically impossible to anticipate all
potentially dangerous situations, and therefore, this Operation Manual deals only with known hazards. A
higher level of safety can be achieved by carefully observing the warnings and instructions set forth
herein.
Safety-related warnings are classified into the following 3 levels, and notification of these warnings is
provided within this Operation Manual and using warning labels(*) on the boiler operation terminal EJ-
210 itself.

Indicates an imminently dangerous situation which leads to serious

DANGER injury or death to the user, if the product is mishandled.

Indicates a situation which might cause serious injury or death to the

WARNING user, if the product is mishandled.

Indicates a situation which might cause minor injury to the user or

CAUTION the occurrence of physical damage only, if the product is
mishandled.

If any part used in the product fails, contact your dealer or MIURA sales office to replace it with its
genuine part. Using parts of different models might reduce safety.
It should be noted that unauthorized alteration of the boiler operation terminal EJ-210 or repair
procedures other than those described herein can pose a serious safety risk. Never make any
modifications or repairs without MIURA’s permission.

SECTION 2: OVERVIEW

SECTION 2: OVERVIEW
1. Product Usage and Functions
1.1 Basic Functions

 Boiler MI control(*) function

The EJ-210 is installed on a steam boiler to provide MI control(*) using the boiler system operation
panel BP-201(*). For a steam boiler that allows combustion control by a pressure switch, connect
the EJ-210 contact output in series with the wiring to the pressure switch to switch between boiler
high fire(*), low fire(*), and standby(*) to provide MI control(*).

 Boiler notification relay function

Under the online maintenance(*) contract, should a problem occur in the boiler, the EJ-210
automatically notifies a MIURA sales office to allow rapid action by maintenance personnel.
When a boiler alarm(*) is notified from the BP-201(*), the EJ-210 functions as a boiler notification
relay.

 Boiler monitoring relay function

When a boiler alarm(*) is monitored by the BP-201(*), the EJ-210 functions as a boiler
communication relay.

NOTE
The boiler notification relay function and monitoring relay function only work for a boiler with BL-
model controller mounted(*) or a boiler with XJ1-model(*) controller mounted(*).

4
SECTION 2: OVERVIEW

1.2 Network Configuration

The details below are an example of a standard network connection.
The actual equipment connected, method of connection, etc. differ depending on the customer’s
system.

■ Once-through steam boiler

Water delivered to the tubes is heated by burner combustion.
Heated boiler water successively evaporates and the steam is
supplied to the load-side equipment.

■ Boiler system operation panel BP-201(*)

Monitors the operation status of all equipment in the boiler room
and communicates with a MIURA sales office. The panel also
performs boiler MI control(*).

■ Steam header

■ Boiler operation terminal EJ-210

Used for MI control(*) of steam boilers by BP-201(*). The
EJ-210 also acts as a relay for monitoring by BP-201(*)
and notification of boiler alarms(*).

■ Automatic monitoring
system for water
■ Chemical hardness leakage
■ Feed water feeder Monitors the soft water
tank treated by the water
