CURRICULUM APPROACH
The ultimate goal is to produce graduates who apply the language conventions, principles, strategies and skills in (1) interacting with others, (2) understanding and learning
other content areas, and (3) fending for themselves in whatever field of endeavor they may engage in. The world is now in the “Knowledge age” where the challenge of
education is to prepare learners to deal with the challenges of the changing world. Students in this age must be prepared to compete in a global economy, understand and
operate complex communication and information systems, and apply higher level thinking skills to make decisions and solve problems.
English Core Group adapts the Communicative Approach. The input focuses on the five macro skills which are listening, speaking, reading, writing, and viewing. These macro
skills aim to develop contemplative and discernment skills such as the following: (a) perceptive and empathetic listening; (b) data and evidence-based solution; (c) promote
critical and contemplative reading. (d) encourage reflective, credible, and impartial writing; and (e) produce a bias-free and truthful synthesis of viewed materials.
Developing the aforementioned skills is necessary in ensuring that the outcome of this framework will help produce highly communicative and multiliterate learner disciples.

KEY STAGE
Student should be able to construct meanings and communicate them using creative, appropriate and grammatically correct oral and written language.
STANDARD

GRADE LEVEL literacy. The subject aims to make the learners apply these skills in both oral and written means of communication in order to communicate effectively in
