Q27- (a)A car moves with uniform velocity of 72km/hr for 10 min and then

comes to rest in next 10 seconds. Draw velocity-time graph to show the motion
of the body. Calculate the distance covered during the journey.
(b) What do you understand by relative velocity?
(c) On a velocity-time graph represent the motion of a body with zero
acceleration.

(a) A man goes to office at a speed of 40km/hr. and returns back at the speed of
30km/hr. Calculate the average speed and average velocity for the whole
journey.

Q 28-(a) The resultant R of three vectors A=2 ȋ + 5 ĵ +5k̑ , B=2 ȋ + 5 ĵ +k̑ and
C=2 ȋ + ĵ -5k̑ is related as R=A+B-C. Obtain resultant vector R analytically.
(b) A bullet fired at an angle of 15º with the horizontal hits the ground 600 m
away. Calculate its initial velocity. What is the maximum horizontal range that
could be achieved with the same initial speed?

(a) Obtain the magnitude and the direction of the given vector B (5 ȋ + 4 ĵ)
along + x-axis.
(b) A ball is projected with the velocity 10m/ sec such that it makes 60 º with
the horizontal. Calculate the time it takes to reach the same level. How high will
it go during the motion? (5)
Q 29-(a) The banking angle of a road is θ and the coefficient of static friction
between the road and the tyres of a car is μs, then derive the expression for the
maximum possible speed of a car moving in a circular path of radius ‘R’ on this
banked road.
(b)An object of mass 3 kg is being accelerated upwards by the tension in a
string. The magnitude of the acceleration is 2 m/sec2. Calculate the magnitude
of the tension in the string.
OR
(a) Derive the expression for the maximum possible speed with which a car can
describe a circle of radius ‘R’ on a levelled road, given the coefficient of
friction between the road and tyres is μs.
(b)A force of 5N changes the velocity of a body of mass M from 10m/sec to
20m/sec in 5sec.How much force is required to bring about the same change in
2 seconds? (5)
