ii. Grievance Redressal mechanism for Faculty, staff and students

Government Engineering College Rajkot firmly believes that Administrative system be formed such that it helps
decision making to be decentralized. The institute has formed Grievance redressal Committee (GRC) for the prevention,
prohibition and redressal of any kind of grievance at work place as per the rules and regulations laid down by
AICTE.

Faculty, staff and students may report to GRC members at any time (24 x 7) at the time of incidence. Complaint register
is maintained by the committee. GRC also works with the aim of providing comfortable environment for faculty, staff
and students of the institute and thereby enhancing their self-confidence and respect. Information of GRC
is displayed on institute website.

The college believes in unbiased redressal of grievances and has constituted student grievance redressal cell and
disciplinary & internal complaint committee (staff) under GRC under Head, Human Resource to deal with such matters.
Online grievance registration form is available at institute web site for grievance redressal as below:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSecaxJchEMV-
CgMQa_CNi6POSvjteWl03cuCDsi5jF6jRal7g/viewform?c=0&w=1

Students can also approach their GTU coordinator, semester coordinators, subject coordinators, relevant activity
coordinators, faculties and head of department for grievance redressal. Grievance register is maintained by the
committee. Every registered grievance is addressed by the concerned competent authority in reasonable time period and
is resolved as per the norms laid out. The register maintains the complete time line of every grievance.

Special purpose facilities available (Conduct of online Meetings/Webinars/Workshops,

etc.)
Microsoft Teams: At present, online academic activities are conducted through Microsoft Teams with individual
accounts of all faculties and students. Microsoft Teams is also being used to conduct various meetings for the
faculties and staff members.

Video Conferences: A Video Conferencing Unit (Polycom G500) is being used to conduct online meetings with
the Directorate of Technical Education- Gandhinagar. This setup is also used for online faculty development
programs.

Webinars: Various academic, alumni and motivational webinars are being organized through Google Meet,
YouTube Live and Facebook Live.

Moodle & Bodhitree: Moodle and Bodhitree are online learning platforms. These facilities can be accessed
through the Intranet inside the campus and through the Internet from the outside of the campus.

Ansys: Ansys software is configured in client-server model. It is accessible throughout the

campus.

PARAM Shavak: Gujcost has setup a Super Computing facility at our institute with PARAM Shavak. To
contribute to the research and development of India, C-DAC has developed a low cost and an energy efficient
solution, which is as good as a supercomputer in a box namely – PARAM Shavak DL (Deep Learning) GPU.
PARAM Shavak DL GPU, has been equipped with advanced technologies to perform the high-end computations
for the scientific, engineering and academic community. This new facility will be able to address and catalyze
the research using artificial intelligence (AI), Deep Learning and promises to be a boon to the academic and
scientific community. Additionally, it will help in creating a workforce that is aware of AI skills (capacity
building) and promote research and teaching by integrating leading-edge emerging technologies.

Our institute permits faculties and students of our institute as well as of other institute to use PARAM Shavak for
research based innovative projects.

BodhiTree: BodhiTree is an online learning platform developed at IIT Bombay with the mission of providing
accessible quality technical education for all, through personalized, flexible, and hands-on complete learning.
BodhiTree hosts interactive multimedia books including lab manuals that mimic classroom teaching. Books
are made of chapters which in turn are composed of interactive videos (interactivity is achieved via periodic
pop-up quizzes embedded within the video), auto-graded practice problems, reference material, slides etc.
These books can be accessed by students via a smartphone as well as a web-browser. A Bodhitree Server is
setup which can be accessed through the Intranet inside the campus and through the Internet from the
outside of the campus.

xv. Innovation Cell

Government of Gujarat has developed a policy, SSIP-Student Startup & Innovation Policy for providing
assistance to Startups/ Innovation. Under this scheme, any individual/ group of individuals having innovative
idea/Concept will be eligible and/or Universities/education institutions, Incubation Centre/PSUs/R&D
Institutions/Private and other establishments will be eligible as an institution to support and mentor to innovators
as approved by Committee. Startups in an economy's technology sectors are the important indicators of
technological performance for several reasons.

The Government of Gujarat under SSIP aims to create an integrated, state-wide, university-based innovation
ecosystem to support innovations and ideas of young students and provide a conducive environment for optimum
`

harnessing of their creative pursuit through GKS. For effective implementation of SSIP and to achieve its
objectives, GKS has done MoU with G.E.C. Rajkot.
