On 10 April 2024, Mr. Dube, Chairperson of the Student Support Committee,

University students and students from neighboring high schools. A recommendation
is to be submitted to the Management Council by 30 May 2024

space and infrastructure for a rehabilitation center on campus.

2.2 Consultation with Experts: To gather insights from addiction

counsellors, medical professionals, and academic advisors on the feasibility
and potential impact of establishing a rehabilitation center.

2.3 Stakeholder Interviews: To understand the perspectives and needs of

university students, faculty, staff, and community members regarding the
proposed rehabilitation center.

2.4 Comparative Analysis: To analyze the experiences of other universities

that have implemented similar initiatives and their outcomes.

professionals expressed support for the establishment of a rehabilitation
center on campus, emphasizing the importance of early intervention and

the idea of having a rehabilitation center that provides confidential and
accessible support services.

3.4 Comparative Analysis: Similar initiatives at other universities have

demonstrated positive outcomes, including reduced substance abuse among
students, improved academic performance, and increased community
engagement.

4. Conclusions

4.1 The availability of a vacant building on campus and support from

addiction experts and stakeholders indicate a favorable environment for
establishing a drug rehabilitation center at the University of Malusi.

4.2 Addressing drug addiction through on-campus rehabilitation services

can contribute to a healthier and more supportive learning environment for
both university students and neighboring high school students.

4.3 The success of similar initiatives at other universities suggests that

investing in a rehabilitation center aligns with the university's commitment to
student well-being and community engagement.

5. Recommendations

5.1 Develop a detailed proposal outlining the logistics, staffing

requirements, and budget for establishing and operating the rehabilitation
center.

5.2 Collaborate with local high schools to provide outreach and prevention
programs aimed at addressing substance abuse among adolescents.

5.3 Establish partnerships with community organizations and healthcare

providers to ensure comprehensive support services for students seeking
treatment for drug addiction.

I declare that this assignment is my original work. Where secondary material has
been used (either

and referenced in
accordance with departmental requirements. I understand what plagiarism is and am
aware of the
department's policy in this regard. I have not allowed anyone else to borrow or copy
my work. Detecting crime and transgressions an organization involves various
means, including:

1. **Surveillance Systems**:
- **Example**: Closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras are commonly used in
retail stores to monitor customer and employee activities. These cameras can detect
theft, vandalism, and other illicit activities by capturing real-time footage.

2. **Audits and Financial Analysis**:

- **Example**: Regular financial audits and analysis of financial records can help
detect fraudulent activities such as embezzlement, money laundering, or accounting
fraud within an organization. For instance, discrepancies in financial statements or
irregularities in expense reports may signal potential wrongdoing.

3. **Whistleblower Hotlines**:
- **Example**: Many organizations have established anonymous whistleblower
hotlines or reporting mechanisms where employees can confidentially report
unethical behavior, fraud, or other wrongdoing. For instance, an employee might use
a whistleblower hotline to report instances of bribery or corruption within the
company.
4. **Data Monitoring and Analysis**:
- **Example**: Monitoring employee emails, internet usage, or access to sensitive
data can help detect unauthorized activities or breaches of company policies. For
example, analyzing network logs may reveal unusual patterns of data access or
attempts to bypass security protocols, indicating potential insider threats or
cyberattacks.

5. **Employee Training and Awareness Programs**:

- **Example**: Conducting regular training sessions on ethical conduct,
compliance with company policies, and recognizing red flags of fraud can help
educate employees and raise awareness about potential risks within the
organization. For instance, employees may learn how to identify phishing emails or
social engineering tactics used by fraudsters to gain access to confidential
information.
