DETAILS OF FELLOWSHIP

1.0 Centrally Sponsored Scheme Of Post Metric Fellowship (Department Of Social Justice & Empowerment)
Financial Benefits
Under this Scheme, the students who get admission in the Institutions notified by this Ministry are eligible to get financial
support as scholarship for covering four items namely:
 Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges (there will be a ceiling of Rs. 2.00 lakhs per annum per student for private sector
institutions and Rs.3.72 lakhs per annum per student for the private sector flying clubs for Commercial Pilot Training and
Type RatingCourses)
 Living expenses to the beneficiary @ Rs. 2220/- per month perstudent
 Books and stationery @ Rs. 3000/- per annum per studentand
 A latest computer/laptop of reputed brand with accessories like UPS and printer limited to Rs. 45000/- per student as one
time assistance during thecourse.
Mode of selection
 Those SC students having total annual family income from all sources up to Rs. 6.00 lakh and having secured admission in a
full-time course in any of the notified institutions according to the general selection criteria prescribed by the concerned
institution, will be eligible for scholarship under the Scheme to the extent of the number of scholarships (slots) allocated to the
institution for thecourse.
 In case the number of eligible students admitted exceeds the number of slots allotted to the institution, the scholarship will
be restricted to the top students in the inter-se merit list based on the admission criteria for the course. However, if
there is more than one student with equal marks for the last available slot in an institution, preference should be given to the
student with the lowest family income. The remaining students from SC category admitted in the institution shall be
eligible for the Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS) administered by this Ministry through State Governments/UT
Administrations, provided such students are otherwise eligible under the saidscheme.
 Thirty percent (30%) of slots allotted to the Institution shall be reserved for eligible SC girl students as per their inter-se
merit. In the absence of sufficient number of girl students, the slots may be transferred to eligible boy students as per their
inter-semerit.

3.0 POST GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PROFESSIONAL COURSES FOR SC/ST CANDIDATES
The number of slots available under the scheme are1000 per year. The tenure of award for two/three year depending upon the tenure
of postgraduate courses.

Conditions for continuation of fellowship


 The students must secure a first class or equivalent CGPA/Grade during, the first semester , second semester and the third
semester examinations to become eligible for continuance of scholarship at the enhanced rate during the second, third and forth
semester respectively. Scholarship once discontinued will not he restored, e'en if a student secures first class (oi) equivalent
(Grade A) grade after the second semester.
 The student who secure first class, or equivalent CGPA/Grade during, their first semester, second semester and third semester
examination, are eligible to get the PG Scholarship @ Rs.5000/- p.m. and the student who secure below 60% marks (first
class), (or) equivalent CGPA grade in their first, second and third semester examination, will be eligible to PG Scholarship @
Rs. 1000/- p.m. only.
4.0 NATIONAL FELLOWSHIP FOR HIGHER EDUCATION OF SC/ST STUDENTS

The House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be on the UGC pattern and will be payable to those Students who are not provided with the
Hostel accommodation. In case Hostel accommodation offered by the University/Institutions is refused, student will forfeit his claim
of HRA. The other facilities such as Medical facilities, leave including maternity leave will be governed as per the guidelines of the
UGC in case of their fellowship program.
5.0 JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY

6.0NATIONAL OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP/PASSAGE GRANT FOR SC CANDIDATES


No of slots: 100 awards, subject to availability of funds, per year are available under the scheme. 30% of the awards each year for
women candidates.
AGE:
Below 35 (Thirty Five) years, as on First April of the selection year.
INCOME CEILING:
Total family income from all sources shall not exceed Rs. 6, 00,000 (Rs. Six lakhs per annum)
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: QUANTUM OF ANNUAL MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE:
(I) FOR UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND OTHER COUNTRIES EXCEPT UNITED KINGDOM:
The annual maintenance allowance of US Dollars 15400/- (Fifteen Thousand four hundred) has been prescribed for all levels of
courses covered under the Scheme.
(II) ONLY FOR UNITED KINGDOM:
The annual maintenance allowance of 9900/- (Nine Thousand nine hundred) Great Britain Pound (GBP) has been prescribed.
Besides the above, there is provision for Contingency allowance, incidental journey allowance, poll tax, Visa fee, fees and medical
insurance premium, air passage will also be provided.
DURATION OF AWARD WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:
The prescribed financial assistance is provided up to completion of the course/research or the following period, whichever is earlier:-
1. Ph.D. -- 04 years (Four years)
2. Master Degree -- 03 years (Three years)

7.0 POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP TO SC/ST CANDIDATES


ELIGIBILITY
Unemployed candidates from the deprived section of the society with Ph.D. Degree awarded and aptitude for research.
(i) The candidate must have a doctorate degree in the relevant subject preferably with published research work to their credit.
(Provisional degree certificate may be accepted if degree is not awarded)
(ii) Only Ph.D. awarded unemployed candidates will be eligible for the award of Post Doctoral Fellowship.
(iii)The upper age limit for male applicants is 50 years as on last date of receipt of online applications and 55 years in the case of
female candidates.
(iv)The candidates of SC/ST categories having 50% marks at UG level and 55% marks at PG level are eligible to apply under the
Scheme.
(vi) Transgender candidates are eligible to apply under the scheme. The reservation shall be followed as per government of India
