Me: Invited guest, students, faculty and staff, welcome to this Grassroots Innovation
for Inclusive Development program and good afternoon! Before we start, let us
prepare ourselves, kindly stand up and bow down our heads for our opening prayer.
This is to be followed by the National Anthem and DSSC Hymn via Audio-Visual
Presentation.
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Me: Alright! Good afternoon once again! Before anything else, we feel honored to
have with us here the presence of (Dr. Siver, Dr. Della, and the rest)
…………………………
And to everyone who have been with us today, thank you for making this event
possible. As for the information of everyone, DSSC has started assessing grassroots
innovation thru conducting SalikLakbay in the IP groups of Bitaug, Bansalan, Davao
del Sur since November of 2020. During this SalikLakbay activity, various issues and
challenges were identified one of this is the lack of support to promote innovations
and culture.
Before kasi as I have observed, I don’t know if you have observed that too that most
of us have appreciated the art but never the artist, have like the flower but never the
roots, and have clap for the success but never the struggles. But with today’s
significant steps, gone are the days when only the products are appreciated. Today,
samahan niyo ako as we will get the opportunity to meet those persons behind the
innovation, creation and passion.
As the DSSC Grassroots Innovation for Inclusive Development (GRIND) Center will
commence, the center will provide space for grassroots innovation products and its
program shall share knowledge of current innovations and trends to its stake-
players.
In this instance, Mainstreaming of GRIND Program commence its first stage of
implementation.
I think I have already spoil so much so without taking much of your time, please help
me welcome our very own Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Siverlyn
Camposano for her welcome remarks. Around of applause please!
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Me: Alright! That was nice to hear from you Dr. Siver! Indeed, Grassroots innovation
is a diverse set of activities in which networks of neighbours, community groups, and
activists work with people to generate bottom-up solutions for sustainable
developments; novel solutions that respond to the local situation and the interests
and values of the communities involved.
At this juncture, we may give the floor to our dear college president, Dr. Augie E.
Fuentes for her inspiring message. A hand please.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Thank you so much Dr. Augie. One thing we really have to put in mind is that youth
have a voice that a community should listen to; it also presents an avenue through
which we can make our voices heard, our ideas become solutions and recognized
that we have the power in us too. Thank you, Dr. Augie, that through your message,
you have empowered us po.
At this time around, since we have already heard about what is this program all
about and as to how can we make a difference through this one… Let us hear the
orientation and planning from Dr. Della Grace G. Bacaltos, our International Affairs
and Relations Head. Let’s give her a round of applause.
………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Me: Thank you Dr. Della for that information. I believed that through your orientation
and planning it creates a more uniform and efficient workforce. This only means that
the program ensures that the center has a streamlined, systematic approach to
communicate responsibilities and expectations.
And since we are down to the last part of today’s activity, I do hope that we have
learned something out from what our respected persons have emphasized. For this
time, let us have our closing remarks from our ______________________________.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Me: Thank you _________________________________________________. Again,
I do hope that we have learned something out from what our respected persons
have emphasized. Step by step, unti-unti, we can make a good difference. This has
been your host, Jarsey Krim A. Taub saying “The value of an idea lies in using of it”.
Thank you everyone and God bless!
