Introduction

1 Introduction
1.1 About the Product
Pilot Pioneer Expert is a dedicated data analysis and reporting solution supporting

GSM/CDMA/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/ LTE/NB-IoT/eMTC/LTE-A Pro/5G NR network

technologies. It is an optional post processing module that can be offered together with Pilot Pioneer

or as a standalone product. Pilot Pioneer Expert powerful data processing and analysis capability

helps to accelerate network performance and Quality of Service (QoS) evaluation. The integrated

data presentation options, analysis methods, and statistical reports help to locate potential network

problems, for necessary action on the network optimization activities. Pilot Pioneer Expert supports

large volume data processing, various analysis functions, user-defined KPIs, and filtering functions

to allow flexible data analysis.

1.2 About the Document


This document focuses on the software configuration, installation and basic operation on data

analysis.

2.1 Software/Hardware Requirements
The following configuration is recommended:

CPU Intel I5

Memory 8GB

Hard Disk 500 GB

Operating System Win 7/8/10

Windows Office 2007/2013

2.2 Obtaining License


Users need to install a dongle and verify related license information before running Pilot Pioneer

Expert.

Make sure that required license has been obtained to run Pilot Pioneer Expert. Without the license,

Pilot Pioneer Expert only supports simple data replay.

Antivirus software in PC may lead to installation failure or abnormal operation, please close the

antivirus software and re-install Pioneer Drivers or add Pioneer Drivers to the trust list.

3.1 Installing Driver and Operating Environment


Double-click PioneerDriversSetup.exe. Follow the instructions to install MOS driver,

Microsoft .NetFrameWork4.0 to create the operating environment. Users may select to install

TCP/IP Monitor Pack as required.

Note: If your PC has already installed the operating environment and drivers, it is unnecessary to

re-install them. You may directly install Pilot Pioneer Expert.

3.2 Installing Pilot Pioneer Expert


Double-click PioneerSetup.exe and install Pilot Pioneer according to the instructions.

Note: users are required to select a dongle type based on the dongle that he/she has, and the

Dongle Driver must be selected.

4.1 Import Logfiles
Choose either of the methods below to import logfiles to Pilot Pioneer Expert:

1. Directly drag logfiles into the software or the Data List pane.

2. Click the icon on the Data List pane to add logfiles.

3. Choose >File > Import Logfile, or use the shortcut keys "Crtl+O" to import logfiles to

the software.

4.2 View Event Information


Choose either of the methods below to view event information:

1. After the logfiles are imported, double click a logfile on the Data List pane to open the Event

window. If the logfile is not decoded, the software will decode the logfile first.

2. After importing logfiles, select a logfile to view, and double-click Event List under the logfile

to decode and view corresponding event information.

4.3 View Message Information


After importing logfiles, select a logfile, and double-click Message under the logfile to decode

4.4 View Measurement Routes


Choose either of the methods below to view measurement route information

1. After importing logfiles, select a logfile, and double click Map under the logfile to load the

measurement route.

2. After importing logfiles, select a logfile, click the icon to enter the parameter window.

Expand the parameter node (e.g. Radio Measurement) under the corresponding network

technology, right-click the parameter (e.g. SS-SINR), and select Map. For other parameters,

users may directly drag them to the Map window to automatically load the measurement route.

4.5 Conduct Analysis


Pilot Pioneer Expert provides powerful analysis functions. Users may click the Analysis icon

( ), and select an analysis function to enter its settings page.


Users may select logfiles, set analysis conditions, and click Analyze to generate corresponding

analysis results.

4.6 Generate Statistics Reports


Pilot Pioneer Expert provides multiple statistics report templates for easy statistics’ generation.

Click the Report icon ( ), and select a report template to enter its settings page. Import logfiles
as required, set statistics conditions, and click Generate to generate the corresponding statistics

report.

4.7 Filter and Bin


The filtering and Bin functions are generally used to process logfiles based on filtering or Bin

conditions for data statistics and analysis.

Pilot Pioneer Expert support multiple filter types. Users may click the Filter icon ( ) to select a

filter type, click the icon to enter the corresponding settings page, set conditions as required,

and then click Save.

The saved Filter (e.g. test) is displayed under the corresponding filter type. Users may click the

icon, load logfiles, and then click Generate to generate filtered logfiles, which will be

automatically loaded to the Data List pane.

Users may click the icon on the BIN Template pane to configure BIN templates by Time,

Distance, or Grid as required.
