In the last months, new and thrilling challenges have marked the working activities of C.A.M.P. group and this catalogue represents the synthesis of these efforts. When we talk about axes, our thoughts go back to the early days of the 20th century, when the first products intended for Italian alpine troops were produced in C.A.M.P.s forge shop. Or lets think about Antonio Codega, the son of the founder, who used to catch the train to Milan in order to personally deliver the products ordered by the first sport stores. A long time has passed and many changes have taken place, but the innovative spirit and the attention to the development of products are still the same. Thats why, after more than a century, some products, such as the Corsa Nanotech axe, are not only part of the equipment of the most enthusiastic alpinists. CRAMPON BINDING SYSTEMS Automatic (Fast): for rigid boots with full toe and heel welts. The front bail rests on the toe welt and is secured once the heel bail is snapped onto the heel welt. Automatic bindings are the most secure configuration for aggressive ice and alpine climbing. Semi-Automatic (Newmatic): automatic heel and universal toe fits a variety of specialty mountaineering boots with welted heels and standard toe. Designed for a secure fit on semi-rigid boots. Universal (Strap On): thermoplastic heel and toe harnesses wrap around nearly any kind of boot and are secured by straps. Designed primarily for hiking and classic mountaineering in non-rigid boots. Not suitable for telemark boots.

In our opinion, rock pitons are the evidence of humans passing through some of the most inaccessible and impassable places. For decades they have been used for rock climbing development. Nowadays they have been a little overwhelmed by more recent safety devices, but they still remain trustworthy friends for those who are looking forward to a real climbing experience. The light coloured ones are made of soft carbon steel, thus they can be easily bent and manipulated and shaped according to the cracks (especially for calcareous rocks). The darker ones are made of NiCrMo steel and are intended for hard rock (granitic rocks)
En nuestro imaginario, los pitones de roca son la prueba de del paso del hombre por los ms inaccesibles e intransitables lugares. Durante dcadas, se han utilizado para facilitar la escalada en roca. Carabiners have always been a strongpoint among CAMP products. This product line has been constantly characterized by innovations and progress: from the introduction of the alloys applied in aeronautics, to the design and development of a really complete range and, last but not least, to the lightness records, a concrete plus for all those who are bound to carrying a lot of these tinkling devices on and with them. This year too, C.A.M.P. sets the pace with the launch of the Photon carabiner, a project started in 2005 with Nano Wire and later with Nano 23 carabiner which, thanks to its reduced weight (only 23 g), is still something that has never been seen before. The Photons aim was to maintain the weight under the 30 g threshold, without reducing the bodys size - and the goal was reached: the wire gate version weighs 29 g and its open gate strength is 9 kN. The Photon carabiner is the best product in the climbing category, while Nano 23 remains the best solution for alpine traditional activities. The Photon family is rounded off by the Photons Bet Lock version and screw version, and is bound to become a real reference point for the international climbing market.

Se trata de una lnea de productos involucrada e influenciada en nuestros procesos de innovacin y progreso: desde la aplicacin de aleaciones procedentes de la aeronutica, hasta el diseo y el desarrollo de una gama realmente completa de modelos, pasando por la reduccin del peso del mosquetn, una caracterstica muy valorada por aquellos que tiene que acarrear muchos mosquetones durante la actividad. Este ao tambin innovamos con el lanzamiento del mosquetn Photon, un proyecto que comenz en 2005 con el Nano y que estableci un nuevo registro de peso nunca antes visto: slo 23 gramos. El objetivo del Photon era mantener el peso en menos de 30 gramos sin reducir el tamao del cuerpo. Y lo conseguimos: el modelo con gatillo de alambre pesa 29 gramos y su fuerza con el gatillo abierto es de 9 kN. El mosquetn Photon es el mejor producto en la categora de escalada, mientras que el Nano 23 sigue siendo la mejor solucin para las actividades tradicionales de alpinismo. All of our dynamic rope sheaths are coated with a durable dry treatment to help protect the core from heat, grit, moisture and abrasion. Dry treatment can dramatically increase the life of a rope and makes the rope safer to climb on in wet conditions.

Indicates that the rope can resist a factor 1.78 fall over a metal edge with a 0.75 mm radius. This is not a guarantee that the rope will hold a fall over a sharp or abrasive rock edge.
By changing the pattern of the weave on the sheath at the exact middle point of the rope, bi-pattern ropes allow climbers to easily differentiate the two halves and quickly identify the middle for safe descents. This procedure is done without discontinuing or cutting any threads thereby maintaining the integrity of the sheath from end to end. In addition to the DRY treatment applied to the sheath of every CAMP dynamic rope, FULL DRY treatment protects each individual strand in the core with a fluoride solution that is heat-set and polymerized.

CAMP Ropes
Sleek and sophisticated single, half and twin ropes draw on the same kind of technical ingenuity and craftsmanship climbers have come to expect from C.A.M.P. The range includes ten dynamic ropes designed to meet the varied demands of all climbers and eight static ropes for caving and work and rescue.
Impact Force
Impact force is a rating used to determine how well a rope absorbs the energy of a fall. All climbing ropes are rated with a maximum impact force that allows the consumer to compare the energy absorption capabilities of various ropes. The lower the maximum impact force, the more energy a rope can absorb thereby softening a fall. For single ropes, the maximum impact force must be less than 12 kN for a factor 1.77 fall with a mass of 80 kg. For half ropes, the maximum impact force must be less than 8 kN for a factor 1.77 fall with a mass of 55 kg. For twin ropes (tested with two parallel strands), the maximum impact force must be less than 12 kN for a factor 1.77 fall with a mass of 80 kg. The maximum impact force is calculated in a laboratory and simulates a severe fall that responsible climbers are unlikely to duplicate in the field.
Single Ropes: Ropes certified to be used by themselves. Ideal for sport routes and everyday climbing where long rappels will not be required.
Number of UIAA Falls

Half Ropes: A rope system comprised of two lines that are usually thinner than single ropes. The leader must tie into both lines, but clips only one line into each piece of pro making half ropes the preferred choice for wandering routes where gear must be placed in zigzag arrangements. Half ropes are also ideal on routes with shoddy protection and loose rock. A single line through a piece of pro or anchor places less stress on the gear than twin ropes and if one line gets damaged by falling rock, the other can still be intact and perfectly safe. Two seconds may follow the leader each tied into only one line. Twin Ropes: A rope system comprised of two lines that must be used together and in parallel at all times. The leader and the follower must be tied into both lines and both lines must be clipped into every piece of gear and anchors. Twin ropes are lighter than half ropes and excel on long, protectable routes where rappels often require the full length of the rope. The UIAA falls rating is used to determine how many severe falls a rope can withstand before breaking. Generally speaking, the higher the number the stronger the rope. Single ropes must withstand a minimum of five successive factor 1.77 falls with a mass of 80 kg. Double ropes must withstand a minimum of five successive factor 1.77 falls with a mass of 55 kg. Twin ropes (tested with two parallel strands) must withstand a minimum of twelve successive factor 1.77 falls with a mass of 80 kg. Dynamic Elongation: This is the stretch of the rope during the first UIAA test fall. For all climbing ropes, dynamic elongation cannot exceed 40%. Static Elongation: Measured under a load of 80 kg, it must not exceed 10% for single ropes, 12% for double ropes, or 10% for twin ropes (tested with two parallel strands).
The Life of your Rope

The life of a rope depends on the frequency and intensity of use as well as exposure to UV rays and humidity which can gradually degrade the integrity of the fibers that comprise the rope. When stored under proper conditions, ropes can have a shelf life of up to five years before first use without affecting the ropes climbing life. Follow these general guidelines to help evaluate the life of your rope: Daily use with high intensity: 6 months to 1 year Weekly use with high intensity: 1-2 years Daily in-season use of average intensity: 2-3 years Weekly in-season use of average intensity: 3-5 years Less than weekly in-season use of average intensity: 5-7 years Very occasional in-season use of light intensity: up to 10 years Replace your rope immediately if: It has held a major fall approaching fall factor 2 Inspection reveals or even indicates damage to the core The sheath is seriously worn Any part of the rope has come in contact with damaging chemicals or agents There is the slightest doubt about its safety
Technical information
Dynamic climbing ropes are designed to absorb the impact of a fall in such a way that minimizes the amount of force put on the climber and the anchor system. The following ratings are used to help climbers compare factors like a ropes capacity to absorb energy, durability and strength.
Fall Factor
The fall factor is used to evaluate the force of a fall on a climber. The fall factor is calculated by dividing the height of the fall by the length of the rope deployed. For example, if a climber falls from 20 meters above the belay and 2 meters above their last piece of protection, the fall factor would be ~0.1 or 2/20. It is important to note that the fall factor is not simply a function of the length of a fall, but of the ratio of the length of the fall to amount of rope deployed. With more rope deployed, the rope can stretch more thereby absorbing more of the force generated by the fall. Additionally, the fall factor can only be 3m 6 mt. 6 mt. applied as a theoretical function as it t. assumes there is no friction between the 3m t. belay and the last piece of protection. Such friction, present in most climbing systems, would absorb some of the force generated by a fall.

Super Weave
Innovative weaving process that integrates the sheath with the core significantly reducing sheath slippage which is the primary cause of premature sheath degradation. Super Weave also lowers the impact force and increases the UIAA falls rating meaning the rope will provide softer catches over the course of a longer life.

Nmero de cadas UIAA

El primero debe estar atado con ambas cuerdas, pero se coloca en cada seguro una cuerda colocando las cuerdas en forma de zigzag. Las cuerdas dobles son ideales para rutas con poca proteccin y roca suelta. Una cuerda atraviesa una placa de anclaje menor presin que dos cuerdas y si una cuerda resulta daada por una cada de roca, la otra est totalmente intacta y perfectamente segura. Elongacin dinmica: Este es el alargamiento de la cuerda durante la primera prueba de caa UIAA. Para todos las cuerdas de escalada, la elongacin dinmica no puede exceder de un 40%. La vida de tu cuerda:

Informacin Tcnica
Las cuerdas dinmicas de escalada han sido diseadas para adsorber el impacto de una cada de tal forma que minimiza la fuerza que ejerce el escalador sobre el sistema de anclaje. Los ndices que se siguen para ayudar a los escaladores a comparar los factores de las cuerdas son la capacidad de adsorcin de energa, durabilidad y fuerza.
Factor de cada
El factor de cada es usado para evaluar la fuerza de una cada de un escalador. El factor de cada es calculado por la divisin de la altura de la cada por la longitud de la cuerda desplegada. Por ejemplo, si un escalador cae de 20 metros por encima de la reunin el factor de cada debe ser ~0.1 or 2/20. Este proceso reduce la fuerza de impacto en los puntos de anclaje y del escalador. STATIC ROPES Static ropes are broken out into two types to help users compare important factors like durability and strength. Static ropes are not designed to cushion the impact of a fall and should not be used for dynamic applications like climbing. Type A: The strongest and most durable static ropes. Excellent for accessing work areas, roping in when working at heights and for rescue. Type B: Smaller diameter static ropes designed for more moderate work and rescue applications. Type B static ropes are both less durable and not as strong as Type A ropes.

FABRICS For medium and large capacity packs, HD156 fabric ensures high abrasion resistance for superior durability. Most of these medium and large capacity packs are also available in light versions using SN85 fabric. For hyperlight packs like the XLP 290, C.A.M.P. uses SN44 fabric. BACKDOOR A wide zipper opening integrated into the back of several CAMPACK models allows the user to drop their pack and immediately access gear packed near the back and bottom.
