Halo Delay Effects Settings - Line 6 and Fractal
These les are designed to emulate the ‘Halo’ delay sound used by Andy Timmons, and recently
released in the Keeley ‘Halo’ delay.
Andy Timmons rst developed this sound using two Memory Man delay pedals in series. In
collaboration , Timmons and Keeley released the ‘Halo’ delay, which took this sound and expanded
on it.
These effects settings will emulate the Halo algorithm in the pedal (preset one on the Halo delay),
giving you a dotted 8th and quarter note delay in series. These settings are mapped to the BPM of
the patches you use them in, so to emulate the delay the way Andy uses it, you’ll want to set your
BPM around 100.

DESIGNED FOR LINE 6 AND FRACTAL DEVICES
These les are designed to be used with the following devices:
• Line 6 HX: Helix, HX Stomp, Helix Native (not compatible with POD Go)
LINE 6 DEVICES:
For Line 6 HX hardware, we have delivered these effects settings as .FAV (Favorites) les. They can
be imported using HX Edit
• Open the ‘HX Edit’ app and import (you can also drag-and-drop) the FAV les into the ‘Favorites’
column of HX Edit.
FRACTAL DEVICES
For Fractal hardware, we have delivered these effects settings as Block Library les. To add these
les to your hardware device, navigate to the Block Library location on your computer and copy/
paste the les into the ‘Multi Delay’ folder.
To nd the Block Library folder on your computer, you can use the Axe/FM3/FM9-Edit software.
Open the software, and on the bottom left section of the software, you will see the ‘Block Library’
options (you may need to select a block in the preset). From the drop-down arrow, select ‘Show
Library’). This will open the Block Library location on your computer.
Within that folder, you should see a folder called ‘Multi Delay’. Paste the library les into that folder.
If that folder does not exist, simply create a folder named ‘Multi Delay’ (if you have never saved a
multi delay block into the block library, the folder won’t exist and you’ll need to create it).
Next, back in the edit software, software, navigate to ‘Block -> Library’ and choose ‘Refresh
Library’.

HOW TO USE THESE FILES
LINE 6 DEVICES:
For Line 6 HX hardware, there are two ‘FAV’ les required to create this sound. They are numbered
‘1’ and ‘2’.
Halo Delay 1 is a Dual Delay block set to dotted 8th. Halo Delay 2 is a Vintage Digital delay block set
to quarter note.
These two delay blocks are designed to be run in series, one right after the other. If you’d like, you
can map both delays to a single button and label it ‘Halo Delay’.
Alternatively, you can use ‘Bradford’ settings to get the sound Bradford dialed in. Bradford’s settings
are warmer with a bit more modulation.
FRACTAL DEVICES
For Fractal hardware, we are using the ‘Aurora’ algorithm within the Multi Delay block. We have
delivered two different options. If you use the Multi Delay block in a series con guration, use the
‘Series’ block. If you are running it in a parallel con guration, use the ‘Parallel’ block. NOTE: This is
referring to how you have the block placed within your preset.
