ABSTRACT

The report mainly focuses on the Search Engine Optimization for internet marketing in
UNO Technologies Pvt. Ltd. This covers the use of SEO strategies, which include
improving a website's general presentation and attaining top Google ranks by increasing
the Page rank, which can affect exposure and profitable commercial opportunities for a
company. The opportunity to learn about Google's ranking factors and search algorithm
was got throughout the internship term. The report primarily focuses on in-depth
knowledge in the area of search algorithms, where the ability to operate quickly and
efficiently under pressure was developed. It also discusses how websites are
professionally ranked in search engines. This work discusses how to optimize a page for
Google's top spot by raising its page rank, which could increase its visibility and lead to
lucrative business deals for an organization.

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
UNO Technologies Pvt. Ltd. provided the opportunity to work as a SEO Intern for three
months. Optimizing different websites and their contents to ensure it can be easily
indexed by search engines for the most relevant search queries or keywords and show as
organic search result was the provided task as the intern. Got the chance to work as intern
for the company and its different clients during which time producing the digital content,
engaging in social media marketing, optimizing various websites for clients, and writing
SEO-friendly articles was done. Additionally, blogs and newsletters were created which
is used to support the services; users who are interested in learning more about the
services can visit the blogs developed for the mentioned services on the website. Top
targeted keywords are added to the contents to boost interaction on the websites of the
company and its clients. All of the content were organized using supporting and auxiliary
keywords. Analyses were conducted concurrently for competitors in the regions with
similar demands. For the websites, keyword, research content, meta tittle, meta
description writing were done along with a range of On-Page SEO optimization
techniques. Other problem with related to websites excess HTML, CSS, JavaScript
effecting the loading time of page were major concerns.

1.2 Problem Statement


The rise of digital marketing has drastically altered how businesses interact with potential
clients. Reach and visibility are now essential to the expansion and success of any
organization, which is why a rising number of IT companies are using a variety of digital
platforms to target different demographics of potential customers. Search engine is such
channel, and the technique is referred to as "Search Engine Optimization". People have
found search engines to be a priceless tool for finding everything they want and even
getting services. Google is the most widely used search engine, utilized by three out of
every four individuals to find goods and services. Thus, every company is in a
competitive environment and wants to succeed or at the very least rank their website or
page so that it appears on Google's home page. For this purpose, optimizing meta titles

and descriptions, managing keyword usage, improving internal linking, and enhancing
overall content quality plays significant role. Without proper guidance and tools like
Yoast, it provides opportunity to attract organic traffic and reach their target audience
effectively. Because of this, every business is concentrating on content development,
writing interesting posts, marketing their brand on various social media platforms like
Facebook and Instagram, and dominating their niche, which is why SMO and social
media marketing are important.

1.3 Objectives
The objective of the internship is to provide solution to the stated problem. The objectives
are as follows:
 To increase the visibility of the client's website in relevant online search results so
that they can generate more leads and revenue.
 To Learn to conduct competitor analysis and identify opportunities for improving
search engine rankings.
 To create XML sitemaps to facilitate better search engine indexing.
 To compress and add descriptive alt text to images, including keywords when
applicable.
 To identify underperforming pages, audit them, and address the issue.
 To rank the website high in search engine results.
 To create/optimize pages and content with provided keywords.
 To evaluate and enhance content readability using Yoast analysis tools.

 To adjust basic settings like titles, social media, and schema markup settings within
Yoast SEO.

1.4 Scope and Limitations


Every marketing method used today is moving online. All people favor digital marketing
over traditional methods of advertising. Digital marketing and its methods are expected to
replace the outdated/traditional marketing methods because they are the most effective
and authentic alternative. When users seek for goods, services, or information pertaining
to a search engine, the ultimate purpose of SEO is to draw them to respective websites.
Almost all best practices for effective digital marketing can be found in SEO. A well-
designed and user-friendly website with interesting and useful information will rank

higher in Google, which will improve traffic by adding page descriptions and picture
metadata, adding keywords and constructing backlinks for blogs and articles.
In addition to scope, the following limitation applied to the internship period are:
 Maintaining the page's ranking in the SERP might be challenging.
 Difficult to keep up with all of the new technologies on the market.
 Difficult to keep a steady eye on the competition.

1.5 Report Organization


The report is followed sequentially by 4 chapters. The first chapter covers the project's
introduction, including the issue statement, objectives, and scope. The details regarding
the internship topics and related problems and solutions are included within chapter 1.
Details about the organization and a review of the literature are provided in second
chapter. Every detail of the organization, hierarchy of the company and services provided
by it are included here. The third chapter focuses further into the study of completed
actions and problems solved. The detailed information related to the work done during
the internship tenure can be found here. The project's conclusion and learning objectives
are covered in the fourth chapter.

CHAPTER 2
ORGANIZATION DETAILS AND LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1 Introduction to Organization
UNO Technologies is an information technology company located in Gyaneshwor-30,
Kathmandu that focuses on quality, innovation, & speed. This company has been
operating continuously since its founding in 2019 AD, offering information and
communication technology-related services such as software and application
development, digital marketing, and managed IT services. By offering top-notch
solutions for a range of business tasks, they constantly strive to provide significant value
and productivity benefits for their clients. They work with clients from different country
that includes Nepal, Australia, United States of America. There working website includes
Lord Buddha Educational Foundation (LBEF), 1Charlie Kilo, Bone and Joints. There
services also include marketing so, they have clients like Jagadamba Steels, Nepal IVF
etc. They plan to work in conjunction with clients with a high emphasis as the
organization was founded with the idea that it would leave a legacy of transformed
peoples.
Young and vibrant team members excel in providing exceptional services. With regard to
all the services the company provided, Uno Technology has effectively developed and
attained optimal client satisfaction throughout the years.

2.2 Organizational Hierarchy

Uno Technology in the group of young members who have different role to play. They
work together with each other to perform any task. This organization is divided into three
Main department financial department, Development Department and Marketing
Department. Financial department is responsible for handling account of the office where
as development department is responsible for developing and managing websites.
Marketing Department consist of Graphic Designer who designs the banner, logos for the
client Whereas SEO Analyst is responsible for increasing traffic and improving health of
Website. This combination of organization is managed and handled by CEO at the top
Who is responsible for dealing with clients and maintaining proper order in the
Organization.

2.4 Description of Intern Department


An internship is a type of practical learning that combines classroom knowledge and
theory with real-world application and skill building in a business or community setting.
The resources, tools, and facilities provided by internships allow students to gain
experience in a professional work setting and give them transferrable skills or information
that they can use in other contexts. Internships with clear learning goals, qualified
guidance, and chances for reflection provide beneficial, enriched learning opportunities.
There were a total of 4 intern students from various colleges working for the company.
The one of them was a graphics design intern, while the other three were digital
marketing and SEO Interns. The three SEO interns were assigned one mentor, and they
were instructed to sit together and help one another if they encountered any challenges.
The organization has a terrific workplace atmosphere and whenever we needed help, the
mentor led the way.

2.5 Literature Review
Due to the presence of a vast number of websites, the Search Engine has a
crucial job of providing the relevant pages to the user, Search Engines such as
Google, use Page Ranking Algorithm to rank web pages according to the
quality of their content and their presence over the world wide web. Search
Engine Optimization is a process of increasing the chances of a webpage to
appear in the first page of the search result. Since, whenever the consumer
searches for information, they provide a particular phrase or a keyword
instead of the complete web address, then the search engine use that keyword
to find the relevant web pages and show it in a list with the most relevant page
at the top. So, an organization could use Search Engine Optimization
techniques to reach up to its potential consumer by appearing at the top of the
search results. In this paper, we will be classifying and reviewing different
technologies for search engine optimization based on their importance and
their usage. Shukla, R., Giri (2019).

The present study tries to contribute theoretically and managerially to the


online visibility literature on multiple fronts. Firstly, we use activity theory to
explain how on-page, off-page, and technical determinants affect online
visibility. Secondly, many industries lean on SEO methodologies to boost
their online search visibility. However, there is a major gap in investigating
the prosocial sphere and health sector in general. Thirdly, we use different
measures of capturing online visibility: SEO index, visitors, and ranking.
Those have been hardly investigated in search visibility literature. Practically,
the present study provides knowledge to blood banks to improve their online
search visibility and optimization. The results of our study may help blood
banks to strengthen their digital communication channels and their specifics in
attracting and retaining donors. Also, it can assist blood bank practitioners in
optimizing blood storage and may help in avoiding wastage of blood and to
timely cater information needs by improvements into online visibility. Shukla,

In our research, we take the user’s perspective on SEO: To what degree are
search engine result lists influenced by optimized pages? This is an essential
question as the influence of SEO could mean that high-quality pages that have
not been optimized are suppressed from the top results and replaced by lower-
quality pages. This, in turn, would take into question the success of search
engines in providing users with the most relevant results. This paper aims to
describe our approach to identifying content optimized for search engines
through analyzing the HTML code and further data on the website level,
combined with lists of manually classified websites. We further classify
results by using a decision tree with features of relevant factors for SEO
measures. Our analysis is based on three datasets containing a total of 256,853
URLs. The main results are that a large fraction of top results in Google has
been optimized, that we can assume the effect of SEO to be stronger for
popular queries, and that there are no vast differences between the ratio for
optimized results on different result positions. The rest of this paper is
structured as follows: First, we provide a literature review showing the
background of our research. Then, we report on how we identified and
classified SEO indicators. After that, we give information on the URL
classification and the datasets used. We then present the results of our
analysis, discuss them and conclude with implications and suggestions for

A search engine discovers information on the World Wide Web (WWW) and adds its
references to its database making it searchable to users through a process known as
indexing. Once a website has been indexed, the search engine keeps checking back
routinely to see if there have been any changes and updates; in this way, search engines
keep the latest information that can be served to the users upon request. Search engines
have evolved to handle different forms of data as well as different uses such as text,
images, and video games. It is estimated that more than 80% of the data on the web is
unstructured (Bhatia, 2019) and search engines are evolving to index and extract useful
information from this data for answering user queries. They employ various techniques

for information storage, processing, ranking, and retrieval for filtering the most relevant
results (Bevendorff et al., 2018; Jing et al., 2021; Zhang et al., 2018).

CHAPTER 3
INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES
3.1 Roles and Responsibilities
The three - month internship at Uno Technology Pvt. Ltd. comprised a variety of tasks
and responsibilities based on the project and the firm's needs. During the internship term,
knowledge of numerous platforms and technologies is gained in order to improve the
website's social media presence and SERP position on a well-known search engine such
as Google. To fulfill its objectives, this internship involves considerable background
research on search engine algorithms, demographic research, website analysis, keyword
research, content authoring, title and Meta description optimization, off-page
optimization, monitoring, and reporting.
The task assigned to the author is as follows:
 Conduct keyword research to identify relevant keywords and analyze search volume
and competition using SEO tools.
 . SEO on Page (titles, Meta tags, Meta-description, fix errors, sitemap).
 Articles and blogs with incorporated SEO keywords
 Reviewing and analyzing the company’s website for possible changes.
 Examining and evaluating the company's website to look for potential updates.
 Help with banner writing and design for the company's and its client's websites.
 Research about social media content, and when necessary, execute Facebook ads.
 Participate in brainstorming sessions and meetings with creative people.
 Complete the tasks assigned by the supervisor.
 Update the supervisor on a regular basis.

The implementation of the study's findings presented another more challenging obstacle.
The study was required to understand the subject at hand as well as to actualize a solution
to the challenges that already existed. A thorough examination of the current system, the
presentation of study analysis and real implementation, and—possibly most importantly
—team interactions were among the main tasks finished during the internship in addition
to the research.

3.3 Description of the project involved during internship


This project entails search engine optimization for the client website of the company,
which was being updated in terms of both appearance and content. The best keywords, or
the "Golden Keyword," were carefully researched for in order to rank the website on the
first page or top of the search engine. The website was built in accordance with on-page
SEO guidelines, which included techniques such as meta title, meta description, image
optimization, and so on. The choice of the keywords in the content, article and blogs were
done very carefully for the better optimization and rank of website. The content which
was suitable for the company and its clients also for SEO was created. Details about URL
optimization was gained and learned to generate SEO friendly URL structure. Also got
the knowledge of open graph images and optimized websites internal linking. Got to
know how can the URL of any company can be improved and learned to fix broken links
on any website. Optimization of page load speed, content and image optimization and fast
loading pages was also done throughout the internship period.

3.4 Tasks/Activities Performed


3.4.1 Keyword Research
The author worked on the most important aspect of SEO, which was selecting the target
keywords. To optimize, relevant keywords must be identified through keyword research.
The author conducted keyword research using the well-known Google Adwords Keyword
Planner tool. Keyword research takes a significant amount of time and effort.
Competitiveness (low, medium, or high) and search traffic must also be prioritized
(average monthly searches). Due to the author's involvement in an IT firm project website
and consultation website, the keyword study focused on low competition keywords with
more than 100 typical local searches per month. As a result, market competition was
fierce in both niches.

3.4.2 Content Research


The author conducted content research based on the keywords that would be targeted and
optimized. It entailed locating the most popular relevant information on social media (in
terms of likes and shares). Over the past year, the search engine Google was used for
content research, specifically to find the most engaging content.

3.4.3 Content Creation and Optimization


Google, as a Search Engine in particular, places a high value on content. As they say, the
heading and the first two lines of content determine the attention span longevity; thus, the
author created content with keywords strategically placed in areas such as the meta title,
meta description, and heading with enticing phrases. To create eye-catching headlines,
tools such as SeoPressor and Title Generator were used.

3.4.4 Title and Meta Description


From a strategic standpoint, meta descriptions and page titles are critical which both
appear in the SERPs. Mockingbird, a baby gear company based in the United States, saw
a 62% increase in organic traffic by simply changing the H1 tags. An optimized page title
is one of Google's many ranking factors. Though they have no direct impact on rankings,
well-written Meta descriptions can significantly increase click-through rates. The author
optimized the title and description with Yoast SEO, a simple and useful WordPress

plugin. The following factors must be considered when creating a meta title, meta
description, and meta keywords: Meta Title: Unique title image

3.4.5 Open Graphic Image Optimization


As part of the on-page optimization, open graphic images were optimized. Image
optimization included the following features:
 Each image file was given an SEO-friendly name.
 Alternative text was optimized.
 Wherever possible, descriptive captions were added to the photos.
The alternative text is an important component in "Image Optimization." Furthermore,
alternate text is useful when the image is compromised.

CONCLUSION AND LEARNING OUTCOMES
4.1 Conclusion
The broad field of SEO has an impact on everyone's online visibility. Enhancing a digital
presence requires a variety of tools, techniques, research activities, and brainstorming
sessions. It is essential to optimize any websites, subjects, or businesses to make sure that
"everyone" can discover them as everyone uses search engines to find information.
Everyone is competing for the top spot, and in order to maintain it, one must constantly
develop a strategy and adopt the perspective of their target audience in order to
comprehend what their target audiences and target demographics are searching for and
looking for. In this report, the author made an effort to include as much of the knowledge
she had learned during her internship as well as the overall results of that time. The
author's understanding of the topic of search engine optimization greatly increased.
In summary, the internship was a great introduction to the working world and it enabled
the ability to improve both the knowledge and execution skills. The author benefited
much from it because she learned a lot and was inspired to explore tasks in the real world.

4.2 Learning Outcome


Working as an intern in the organization was a wonderful delight because it provided
exposure to the organization's real working environment. It was a fantastic opportunity to
learn the disciplines, efforts, struggles, and morals in a real-world setting. The following
are the most important lessons that was learned throughout the internship tenure:
 Acquired experience working in a corporate environment.
 Gained knowledge of collaboration and teamwork.
 Learnt about expert SEO strategies.
 Accept and respond to feedback.
 Working mechanisms of Search Engines.
 Utilize several SEO techniques.
 Create SEO-friendly content for websites
