    Respected Sir/Madam, We are pleased to invite you for two days National Seminar on Impact of Globalization in India organized by our college on 29-30th January 2012. About the Institution: Established in 1965 by the Anglo Vedic Educational Association Anoopshahr, D.P.B.S. (P.G.) College is a semi-government institution recognized under Section 2(f) of the U.G.C. Act and affiliated to C.C.S. University Meerut. It is a multi-faculty institution offering B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.C.A., B.Ed., M.A. (Sanskrit), M.Sc. (Physics) and M.Sc. (Chemistry) courses and Research Facility in Physics and Chemistry. The B.Ed. department of the college has already been accredited by NAAC with B Grade (CGPA: 2.53) and accreditation process of rest of departments is in progress. The college has a beautiful campus with well-developed infrastructure. Under the dynamic leadership of Shri Jaiprakash Gaur, a renowned industrialist and President, Anglo Vedic Educational Association, Anoopshahr, the college is progressing by leaps and bounds. About Anoopshahr: Popularly known as Chhoti Kashi, Anoopshahr is an ancient town situated on the bank of river Ganga in the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. It is located at a distance of 40 Kms. from Bulandshahr, 60 Kms. from Aligarh, 80 Kms from Moradabad, 115 Kms. from Meerut and 120 Kms. from Delhi. Some of the important places/sites surrounding Anoopshahr are Karnawas (where a Karna of Mahabharta is said to have donated his Kawach and Kundal), Belon and Awantika Temples, Narora Atomic Power Plant etc.

    About the Seminar: The phenomenon of globalization is a distinctive an important development in the contemporary world history. It represents a tendency towards greater integration of the world-economically, technologically as well as culturally. The process involves the removal of most state imposed restrictions on movements between countries of money, goods, services and capital and is based on the presumption that it would benefit entire mankind. However, the functioning of the process so for suggests different consequences for different countries, regions and different sections of people. India entered into the process in 1991 when the country was in the grip of severe financial crises. Now, two decades after the initiation of the process it is worthwhile to examine its various implications for the economy, society, polity, environment and Science & Technology in the country. Within the broad theme the focus of this seminar will be on the following sub-themes:Globalization: Challenges and Opportunities. Impact of Globalization on Indian Economy. Impact on Indian Society and Culture. Impact on Polity with special reference to Governance and Policy Making. Impact on Science, Technology and Environment. Impact on Higher Education in India. The above sub-themes are suggestive. The participants may also deliberate over some other related aspects within the purview of the proposed theme.

    Call for Papers: Papers are invited on the abovementioned theme/sub themes for the presentation in the seminar either in Hindi or in English. Participants are requested to send their Abstract not exceeding 300 words latest by 15th Jan. 2012 and Full length Paper by 20th Jan. 2012.
