This high usage has implications for academic performance, as students often juggle time spent on social media with their academic responsibilities. In Dapitan City National High School, social media is frequently used as both a source of information for schoolwork and a platform for socializing. However, limited studies focus on how specific patterns of social media use directly affect academic performance in the Philippine public school context. This study aims to examine the role of social media in either enhancing or detracting from students' academic outcomes, particularly in public schools.
