    G E R M A N Y

    1. Certificate in Healthcare Assistant for Germany Hospitals


    Equip Africa Institute, an affiliate of Mount Kenya University is offering Certificate in
    Healthcare Assistant for Germany Hospitals starting January 2023. The programme will be
    offered in Mount Kenya University Main Campus, Thika and Mombasa Campus.

    a) Candidates Selection:
    Candidates will be selected based on High School Grades, German Language Skills and will
    be required to undergo an Aptitude Test. The following will be the minimum requirements:

    i. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) C+ (Plus)


    ii.German language level B2-profiency(Zertifikat B2)*
    iii.
    Pass in Aptitude test administered by the German partner organization
    iv.Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) qualifications below (KCSE) C+
    (Plus) will be considered based on German language proficiency.
    *for candidates without German language level B2-Profiency read 4 below

    b) Duration
    The Certificate course will take two semesters of 14 weeks each. Upon completion, the
    graduates will be offered a guaranteed Nursing Apprenticeship in partner German hospitals.

    c) Fees for the certificate course (2 Semesters)


    Application fees Ksh 1,000
    Aptitude test fees administered by German partner organization Ksh 5,000
    Fees per semester (2 Semesters) Ksh 100,000

    d) Assessment
    The course will be assessed at two levels:
    i. Internal assessment: conducted continuously by the trainers in Kenya and Germany.
    ii. External assessment: conducted by Goethe-Institut.

    2. Apprenticeship at Germany partner hospitals:


    Hochschule Koblenz University of Applied Sciences as Project leader will ensure, that
    students successfully complete the course in Kenya are guaranteed an apprenticeship in
    Germany. Students will enjoy the benefit of getting a student visa, salary and are provided
    with excellent job opportunities for full-time employment after completing their training.
    For the training in Germany, students are not charged any tuition fee but are entitled to get
    a working contract for the training with a monthly salary to cater for the basic needs and
    accommodation. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, students are provided
    with excellent career opportunities for full-time employment in German hospitals exposing
    them to extensive further specialised training opportunities among other benefits.

    3. Onboarding in Germany:
    During the preparation in Kenya and training in Germany, the African Nurses/Pfleger and
    AG-Career Hub in Germany will support the students to successfully integrate into the
    training and working environment in German hospitals as well as organise mentors and
    colleagues in Germany to accompany them during their stay.

    4. German Classes/ Deutsch


    Mount Kenya University will offer Germany language Levels A1, A2, B1 and B2. Classes will
    be offered in Mount Kenya University Main Campus, Thika, Mombasa and Nakuru Campuses.

    Start Deutsch A1 3 months 20,000
    Start Deutsch A2 3 months 20,000.
    Zertifikat Deutsch B1 3 months 20,000
    Zertifikat Deutsch B2.1 3 months 20,000
    Textbooks Ksh. 2,000 for each level
