APPLICATION OF TRIGONOMETRY

1. The angle of elevation of the top of a tower from a certain point on the ground is 300. If the
observer moves 20 m towards the tower, the angle of elevation of the top of the tower increses by
150. Find the height of the tower

2. The angle of elevation of the top of a vertical tower from a point on the ground is 600. From
another point 10 m vertically above the first, its angle of elevation is 45 0. Find the height of the
tower.

3. The lower window of a house is at a height of 2 m above the ground and its upper window is 4m

windows are observed to be 600 and 300 respectively. Find the height of the balloon above the

1. Had Abita scored 10 more marks in her mathematics test out of 30 marks, 9 times these marks would

2. A train travels at a certain average speed for a distance of 63 km and then travels a distance of 72 km at
an average speed of 6 km/h more than its original speed. If it takes 3 hours to complete the total
