2.1 RSL-Hanes Australasia Restricted Substances List 18
2.1 RSL-Hanes Australasia Restricted Substances List 18
Hanes Australasia is committed to upholding the highest product safety standards in its supply chain, which extends to
ensuring that products are free from substances that are harmful to humans or the environment. All suppliers to
Hanes Australasia must operate a quality system that ensures that their products and packaging are free from
potentially harmful or hazardous substances, including the substances contained in the tables below.
The regulatory limits in the tables below are based on the restrictions which apply in the markets to which Hanes
Australasia supplies its products. However, Hanes Australasia prefers that potentially harmful or hazardous
substances are not used at all in its products and packaging and wish to work with suppliers to completely phase them
out of Hanes Australasia’s supply chain as part of a process of continuous improvement.
Accordingly, prior to commencing production, suppliers must advise Hanes Australasia if any product or packaging
contains any of the substances listed below – even if those substances are at levels below the relevant regulatory
limit.
The presence of potentially harmful or hazardous substances must be ascertained using the test method(s) specified
in the tables below. Where no test method is specified then an appropriate testing method will be nominated by
Hanes Australasia’s Approved Laboratories, details of which are found in Schedule 3 of the Hanes Australasia Service
Level Requirements.
Substances are regulated in different ways in different countries and can have different uses and different
names. Accordingly you need to read this Restricted Substances List carefully - look for both substance numbers and
names. Do not just look under a use heading without checking the rest of the list. For example, not all restricted
flame retardants are listed under the “Flame retardants” heading. Some are listed in the “REACh SVHC” section.
Examples of use are provided as guidance only and are not an exhaustive list of where various restricted substances
may be found.
Chinese translations are for reference only and, in the event of any inconsistency, the English chemical names prevail.
