    Through ref. 1st cited, during first review meeting of PR &DRD Department
    held on 20/08/2024, the Hon’ble Chief Minister has stated that Grey water
    management will be implemented through the construction of Individual Soak Pits
    and underground drainage systems.
    In this regard, vide the ref. 2 nd cited, permission was accorded for construction
    of individual magic soak pits with an estimate cost of Rs.6000/- each magic soak pit
    for collection and disposal of grey water at household level and guidelines were
    communicated.
    In view of the above, it is decided to take up 5.00 lakh individual magic soak
    pits @ 1,000 each upland mandal under MGNREGS in current FY 2024-25. Minimum
    1.00 lakh soak pits shall be completed per month to achieve the targeted 5.00 lakh
    soak pits. The guidelines are as follows.
    • Work Specifications:
    Type of Beneficiary : Individual
    Main Category : D (Rural Sanitation)
    Sub Category : Construction of Soak Pit for Individual

    • The cost of soak pit is Rs. 6,000/- (Wage: Rs.550/- & Material: Rs.5,450/-).
    The estimate & design of individual magic soak pit is herewith enclosed.
    • These soak pit shall be located to collect grey water as well as roof water and
    these soak pits are acts as ground water recharge structure.
    • The Technical Assistant (TA) shall prepare estimates duly selecting freezed
    template under SECURE.
    • The estimates shall be accorded technical sanction by the EC/JE and shall
    obtain administrative sanction by the District Collector/DPC, MGNREGS
    File No.2929/EGS/SPM(T)/2015

    through SECURE.
    • The M Book recording & check measurement shall be done by the TA &
    EC/JE.
    • For the wage/material payments, M Book with pass order shall submit to
    MPDO/PO concerned.
    • Payments shall be made in MCC PO login as per the M Book recording/pass
    order.
    • The material payments shall be made to the beneficiaries, duly registering
    him/her as Vendor in NIC NREGA Soft.

    Hence all the District Collectors/DPCs, MGNREGS are requested to make note of

    the above and ensure that these soak pits are to be completed by 31 st March 2025,
    duly following MGNREGS guidelines.
