    Accomplishment Report In National Drug Education Program (NDEP)

    DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION CONTROL WEEK


    The issue of drug abuse has already been
    with us for a very long time. Knowing the
    adverse effects of drug abuse in the
    society’s culture and general well-being,
    many measures have been proposed and
    implemented by experts to reduce and
    relieve, if not totally eradicate these
    effects. One such measure is drug
    prevention education.
    In view of the urgent need, the
    Department of education implemented the
    National Drug Education Program (NDEP)
    which aims to prevent drug abuse among
    students through the development of
    desirable values, attitudes, and practices.
    In line with the said program
    Anacleto Villanueva Elementary School
    conducted the Pledge of Commitment for
    Drug Abuse Prevention Control Week in
    their Flag Ceremony on November 13,
    2024, including the students, non-
    teaching, and teaching staff of the school.
    This year’s celebration adopted the
    2023 International Day Against Drug
    Abuse and Illicit Trafficking theme,
    "PEOPLE FIRST: STOP STIGMA AND
    DISCRIMINATION, STRENGTHEN
    PREVENTION" which aims to promote
    awareness about the importance of
    treating people who use drugs with
    respect and empathy; providing
    evidence-based, voluntary services for
    all; prioritizing prevention; and leading
    with compassion.
