1 Overview
This manual explains how to use data collection tool (Auto Edition). You can download data from
KOMTRAX Plus controllers and upload the downloaded data to servers by the tool.

1.1 Overview of the tool


This tool which is the PC tool of KOMTRAX Plus has a feature to automatically download data from the
KOMTRAX Plus controller and automatically upload data to the server (local, EQ PCARE, KOMTRAX
server).
This tool operates at a wireless LAN hotspot installed at a location (such as a fuel station and a parking
area) that the machine periodically collects, and collects data from the machine and transfers the data
to the server.
Separately, please installed a wireless LAN equipment for connecting with the machine.

2 Requirements
2.1 Disabling Windows firewall
If download or upload fails, try disabling Windows firewall.

3 Connection
3.1 Network setting for connection with machine
3.1.1 Wireless LAN configuration
You have to set up your PC’s wireless LAN port with this wireless configuration before connecting.
SSID 0002KPLUS
Authentication algorithm WPA2-PSK (WPA2 Personal)
Cipher algorithm AES (CCMP)

3.1.2 Network configuration


You have to set up your PC’s wireless LAN port with this network configuration before connecting. You
can set up the configuration from Control Panel.

3.2 Network setting for connection to server


Please set according to the network policy of the mine management company to use.

4 Data Download and Data Upload
4.1 The tool’s GUI basics
The tool’s GUI has following interfaces.
(a) Tool Menu
Detailed settings for download and upload.
(b) You can download it manually at any timing and upload it.
(c) This area shows download status.
(d) This area shows upload status.

4.2 Tool Settings
[Settings] menu will set up the technical settings of the tool.
When selected, a setting window will be opened.

(a) Import

Load the settings used by another computer. Or load the previously backed up settings.
When you click the “Import” button, Explorer will open to select the file.

(b) Export
Back up your settings.
Clicking the [Export] button opens the Explorer and saves it to a file.
(c) Default
Restore the setting to default.
(d) Common Setting
A new window opens and you can set the setting items to be used in common with other tools
such as conversion tool.
(d-1) Computer Name
This is information for identifying what computer downloaded.

(d-2) Unit Number
This setting can link machine model, serial number, customer unit number.
After setting, you can check the unit number on the download screen.

Add one new machine.
A new window will open so enter each item.

Delete the selected machine.

Load the list created by another computer. Also load the backed up list.
(g) Import Equipment Data
Import equipment data generated by EQPCARE.
Since the machine that completed the initial configuration is registered in EQPCARE, you
can use this method to add unit number.

After clicking “Import EQP Data”, open file dialog will be shown. And then specify the
downloaded equipment data (xlsm file) on the dialog, and click “Open”.

Back up the list.

(a) Select whether to download old data first or not.
If you do not download for a long time, uncheck this if you want to prioritize downloading
the latest data.
(b) Set the communication mode.
Please do not change except when instructed from KOMTRAX support.
(c) Temporarily set when abnormality occurs in the data file.

4.3 Data Download and Upload
When a time longer than the set download interval has elapsed, data will be downloaded automatically
when it becomes downloadable from the machine.
Downloaded data is uploaded immediately to the server.
Also, if the data to be uploaded remains in the personal computer, upload processing will be executed
every 10 minutes.

5 Setting up data collection tool for customer
This chapter describes how to set up data collection tool on customers PC. When you provide the tool
to your customer, you need to register downloadable machines (whitelist) that your customer can
download data. The purpose of the registration is to restrict your customer to download only from their
machines.

5.1 Work on service person’s PC


5.1.1 Adding downloadable machines to whitelist
Step 1 Run the tool on your PC.
Step 2 Click “Settings” menu on the tool’s main window to open settings dialog (See also 4.3).
Step 3 Enter “Konami code” on the dialog to open advanced settings dialog.

Note:
How to open advanced settings dialog is confidential. You MUST NOT provide this information to your
customer.

Step 4 After entering ”Konami code”, advanced settings dialog will be shown. Open “Whitelist” tab.
Step 5 Add downloadable machines to whitelist by following methods.

⚫ Adding by manual
You can add downloadable machines directly by inputting machine information.
- Click “Add” on advanced settings dialog.
- After clicking “Add”, manual input dialog will be shown. And then input machine information
(machine model, type and serial) that you allow your customer to download data.
- After inputting the information, click “OK” (See Figure 5-2).

⚫ Adding from EQP data


You can add downloadable machines by importing equipment data that is generated on EQPCARE.
Since the machines that have completed initial configuration are registered to EQPCARE, you should
use this method to add downloadable machines.
- Generate equipment data on EQPCARE, and download it to your PC
- Click “Import EQP Data” on advanced settings dialog.
- After clicking “Import EQP Data”, open file dialog will be shown. And then specify the downloaded
equipment data (xlsm file) on the dialog, and click “Open”.

Tips:
- If you want to delete a downloadable machine from whitelist, click the machine that you want to
delete, and then click “Delete”.
- If you want to clear whitelist, click “Clear”.
- If you want to back whitelist to the state before editing, click “Discard Changes”.

5.1.2 Exporting whitelist


Step 1 After adding downloadable machines to whitelist, click “Export” on advanced settings dialog.
Step 2 After clicking “Export”, save file dialog will be shown. Specify location and filename of whitelist,
and click “Save”. Only checked machines on the dialog are exported.
Step 3 To copy exported whitelist into customers PC, copy the file of exported whitelist to external
data storage (ex. USB flash drive).
Step 4 Click “Cancel”.

Note:
If you click “OK”, your tool will only be able to download from the machines on whitelist. So you have to
click “Cancel” in this step.

5.2 Work on customers PC
5.2.1 Installation
Install data collection tool to customers PC tool. Be careful to use the installer for customer. See also
installation manual.

5.2.2 Importing whitelist


Step 1 Run the tool on your PC.
Step 2 Click “Settings” menu on the tool’s main window to open settings dialog (See also 0).
Step 3 Enter “Konami code” on the dialog to open advanced settings dialog (See also 5.1.1).
Step 4 After entering ”Konami code”, advanced settings dialog will be shown. Open “Whitelist” tab.
Step 5 Click “Import” to import exported whitelist. After clicking “Import”, open file dialog will be shown.
Specify location and filename of exported whitelist on external storage, and click “Open”.
Step 6 After clicking “Open”, exported whitelist will be displayed on the dialog. And then click “OK”.

Note:
If the whitelist is empty, data collection tool for customer is not able to download from any machine. So
you have to click “OK” to save changes in this step.
