INTRODUCTION
Simulation models consider the variability of a process and can offer
confidence intervals for results indicating the likelihood of different
occurrences. It’s the accuracy that this type of detail gives that sets
simulation capability above static analyses such as spreadsheet calculation.
These displays range from abstract process diagrams to simple plan schematics to
full virtual reality factories and operations. Simulation is widely used in almost all
industry sectors. It has universal applicability to any system which consists of a
series of process steps which progress on an event basis; typically, events are the
start or finish of a process or work step.
WHY SHOULD YOU DO THIS COURSE ?
❖ Even in state-of-the-art practices such as Industry 4.0 and 5.0, simulation is specified as one of the 9
critical arms.
❖ Incidentally, it is the only arm that talks about the future and ultimately that’s what matters to decision
makers. The developed world is fully committed to using simulation, as a mandatory decision support tool
and this practice will soon become de facto even in developing countries.
❖ To learn how to make rational, informed and data driven decisions, the modern manager has to be able
to evaluate all his possible courses of action and decide wisely.
