 UNIT 1
1. QUESTION WORDS + To V (Từ để hỏi + động từ nguyên thể có “to”)
Chúng ta sử dụng một số từ để hỏi “who, what, where, when và how” trước một động từ “to V ”
để diễn tả tình huống người nói khó hoặc không chắc chắn để đưa ra quyết định.
- Chúng ta thường sử dụng một số động từ như: ask, wonder, (not) be sure, have no idea, (not)
know, (not) decide, (not) tell... + từ để hỏi + to infinitives.

* Chú ý:
- Ta không thể dùng WHY trong cấu trúc này.
- Trong câu hỏi dạng đảo, ta có thể dùng WHETHER TO V nhưng không dùng IF.
- Sau what, which, whose, how many và how much ta có thể dùng 1 danh từ.
2. PHRASAL VERBS (CỤM ĐỘNG TỪ)
 Cụm động từ là một động từ được kết hợp với một hoặc hai tiểu từ (tiểu từ có thể là một
trạng từ, một giới từ hoặc cả hai) để tạo thành một động từ kép có nghĩa khác với từ gốc.
E.g. go + out = go out: đi chơi, đi ra ngoài.
pass + down = pass down: truyền từ đời này sang đời khác.
cut + down + on = cut down on: cat giảm
put + up + with = put up with: chịu đựng
 UNIT 2
1. DOUBLE COMPARATIVES (SO SÁNH KÉP)
So sánh kép (Double Comparatives) là dạng so sánh gồm có hai mệnh đề song song, cấu trúc
này được sử dụng khi người nói cần diễn tả về việc một sự thay đổi của vế A dẫn đến một tác
động song song tới người hay vật khác ở vế B.
 E.g. The older she is, the slower she is. (Càng lớn tuổi, bà ấy càng chậm chạp.)

FORM:

Tính từ, trạng từ ngắn:

the adj/adv + er + S + V, the adj/adv + er + S + V
E.g. The bigger the house is, the higher the rent is.
Tính từ, trạng từ dài:
the more + adj/adv + S + V, the more + adj/adv + S + V
E.g. The more beautiful she is, the more modest she becomes.
Với danh từ
the more + noun + S + V, the more + noun + S + V
E.g. The more electricity you use, the higher bill you will have.

 UNIT 3
1. MODAL VERBS IN FIRST CONDITIONAL SENTENCES
( Động từ khuyết thiếu trong câu điều kiện loại 1.)
- Trong câu điều kiện loại 1, chúng ta sử dụng thì hiện tại đơn ở mệnh đề If và will + V ở mệnh
đề chính.
* Form: If + S + V(s/es), S + will + V
E.g. If I have money, I will share with you. (Nếu tớ có tiền, tớ sẽ chia cho cậu.)
If I pass the final exam, my mother will buy me a new smart phone
(Nếu tớ vượt qua kì thi, mẹ tớ sẽ mua cho tớ 1 chiếc đt mới.)
 Tuy nhiên thay vì will, chúng ta có thể sử dụng những động từ khuyết thiếu khác như:
can, must, may, might hoặc should ở mệnh đề chính để chỉ khả năng, lời khuyên, sự việc
có thể xảy ra, sự cần thiết.
Cấu trúc mở rộng:
If S + V(s/es), S + can/must/should/might... + V
E.g. If you finish your homework early, you can watch TV.
