November 15, 2024 (1 day celebration)
Theme – “NURTURING YOUTH THROUGH CRITICAL THINKING FOR SUSTAINABLE FUTURE”
Event overview: this event aims to promotes language skills, cultural knowledge, and creativity
across students.
Opening Ceremony

*Pre-School 2 and kinder (Classroom Based) 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
"Spelling Bee Superstars"
Mechanics:
 The teacher will flash a card which contains an image of a specific things, animals,
places, etc.
 The students/kids will identify which vowel is the image starting with.
 First to make five (5) points will be considered as the winner. Kids who did not win
will still get a certificate of participation
 There will be six (6) winners individual (Champion to 5th runner ups)
 The activity will be held at the pre-school/kinder room
 Awards:
Medal and cerficates will be awarded to the winners.
Certificate of Participation will be given to the participants
*Pre-School 1 (Classroom Based) 8:00AM -9:00AM
“Sounds Familiar”
Mechanics:
 The teacher will flash a card which contains an image of specific things, animals, and
places, etc.
 The students/kids will identify what sounds in the image
 First to make five (5) points will be considered as the winner. Kids who did not win will
still get a certificate of participation
 There will be (2) winners individual (champion to runner up)

 The activity will be held at the pre-school room.


 Awards:
Medals and certificate will be awarded to the winners.
*Grades 1-3 (Classroom Based) 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM
Spelling bee
Mechanics:
 The teachers will prepare a list of words for the students to spell.
 For each grade level is an appropriate difficulty: Grade 1: Easy, Grade 2: Average, and
Grade 3: Hard.
 Students will write their answers in whiteboards, provided by the facilitators.
 In each grade level there will be Three (3) participants with only one (1) being the
winner.
 Awards:
Medals will be awarded to the winning individual per grade level and certificates of
participation is awarded to non-winning individuals.

AWARDING CEREMONY – PRE-SCHOOL to GRADE THREE – 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM


*Grade 4-6 (SJAV Quadrangle) 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
 Short Story telling (English and Filipino)
Mechanics
- Open for grades 4,5, and 6 (1 to 3 participants per grade level)
- Time allocated to present the story for 3minutes
- They can use props and costumes to give emphasis to the story
Criteria for Judging:
Accuracy of recalled events 20%
Organization of events/ideas 15%
Accurate outlining of the sequence 15%
Expression/Distinct Style 20%
Voice Projection 20%
Level of Confidence 10%

Bookmark Contest - 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM


Guidelines and Mechanics: open to all Gr.4-6 students.
Participants must prepare the following:
1. Small folder
2. Coloring Materials
3. Pencil/Pen
4. Ruler/Eraser
 Time will be limited to 1hr
 There will be three winners.
 Champion, first runner up, and second runner up.
Criteria*
- Creativity/originality 50%
- relevance to the theme 40%
- neatness 10%
Total 100%

 Declamation

Declamation Mechanics

Preparation:

- Advisers for each section will appoint only one (1) participant for the
declamation.
- Each participant will be assigned a famous speech (JHS will be assigned a
single piece by Ms. Maypol Torres and SHS will be a assigned a single piece
by Ms. Axcel Rose Bermudo
- Speeches are memorized, and students are judged on their ability to recall
the text accurately.

Order of Performance:

- The order of performances can be decided by drawing lots or randomly


assigning slots.
- Each participant is introduced by their name and section.

Timing:

- Each student has a set time limit, typically with a warning given at the halfway
mark.
- Points may be deducted if the student significantly exceeds or falls short of the
time limit.

Speech Delivery:

- The student must deliver the speech without the use of notes while expressing
their own interpretation of the piece.
- Use of appropriate gestures, body language, and voice modulation is encouraged
to convey the emotion and power of the speech.

Disqualification:

o Students may be disqualified for going off-topic, using props, or reading from
notes.

Judges:

- judges evaluate each participant based on predetermined criteria

Awarding
- Scores are tallied to determine the winners
- In the JHS division two (2) will be picked as winners (Champion, and first Place).
In the SHS division five (5) will be awarded as winners (Champion, first place,
second place, third place, and fourth place.)
- Trophy will be awarded to the champions; medals will be given for the runner
ups and certificate of participation to all non-winning competitors

Rebus contest (Quadrangle) 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Game Mechanics

 Team Play: participants will compete in teams. Any grade level can compete.
 A team is composing up to 2-3 individuals.
 Rounds: There will be three rounds with each round increasing in difficulty. Each round
includes ten (10) rebuses to solve. For easy there will be ten (10), for average round ten
(10), and for hard there will be five (5)
 Time Limits: groups will have 30 seconds per round to guess the rebus.

 Point System: Points to each rebus based on difficulty.


 Awards:
Medals will be awarded to the winning participant and certificate of participation is
given to non-winning participants
