INTRODUCTION

There is different point to treat in our practical work

Outline
1. PUBLIC HEALTH

2. BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES

3. MIDWIFERY

A Comparative Look at Midwifery, Biomedicine, and Public Health Public health, biomedicine, and
midwifery are three distinct yet interconnected fields that contribute significantly to human health and
well-being. While they may seem disparate, they share a common goal: improving the health of
individuals and communities.

1. Biomed : Biomedical research is the broad area of science that involves the investigation of the
biological process and the causes of disease through careful experimentation, observation, laboratory
work, analysis, and teste string

Biomedical science combines the fields of biology and medicine in order to focus on the health of both
animals and humans. As a biomedical science major, you'll study biochemical and physiological
functions, anatomical and histological structures, epidemiology, and pharmacology.Science

2. Public health: is the science and practice of protecting and improving the health of communities and
populations. It focuses on preventing diseases, promoting healthy behaviors, and ensuring access to health
services. Public health initiatives include health education, vaccination programs, disease surveillance,
environmental health, and policies aimed at improving social determinants of health like income,
education, and housing. Its goal is to create healthier environments and systems that lead to better quality
of life for everyone, especially vulnerable groups.

3. MIDWIFERY

➤Midwifery is a health care profession which believes in providing pregnancy, labor and birth, not only
this but even during the postpartum period.

➤Midwives also provide primary care women, guide women how to maintain reproductive health and
assist in annual gynecological examinations, family planning and menopausal care.

➤Midwives are autonomous practitioners who are specialists in low-risk pregnancy, childbirth and
postpartum.

➤They generally strive to help women to have a healthy pregnancy and natural birth experience.
➤Obstetricians, in contrast, are specialists in illness related to childbearing and the surgery.

➤Promotion of health

➤Promote healthy life style

➤Promotion of breastfeeding

➤Maintain nutrition

➤Facilitate fluid administration

➤Facilitate peri-operative care

4 Conclusion

In conclusion, public health, biomedicine, and midwifery are distinct yet interconnected fields that
contribute to overall healthcare. Public health focuses on population health and prevention, biomedicine
on the biological basis of disease and treatment, and midwifery on the holistic care of women and their
babies during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. While each field has its unique focus and approach,
they often collaborate to improve health outcomes. For example, public health initiatives may rely on
biomedical research to develop effective interventions, while midwives may work with public health
professionals to promote maternal and child health. By understanding the differences and
interconnectedness of these fields, we can appreciate their collective impact on improving health and
well-being.
