4.1. Introductory A. Preliminaries
Activity B. Motivation
(suggested activity) Present two objects to the students (one microscopic object, the other one is not.)
(5 minutes) C. Questions:
Can you see the objects clearly?
What device can help us view small objects? The teacher will continue asking
questions until the student would answer microscope.
4.2. Activity Let the students do Activity on The Microscope, Its Parts and their Functions Part A.
(25 minutes) ( LM. PP.110- 112)
Say;
1. Choose a group leader, scribe, and resource manager. The group leader facilitates the
activity, the scribe writes all the observations and the resource manager checks all the

3. Do your activity in 20 minutes.
4. In 5 minutes, do a group sharing on the result of your activity.
4.3. Analysis Processing of students’ responses. Ask the following questions:
(10 minutes) 1. How do you find the activity?
2. Why is it important to use both hands in carrying the microscope?
3. Why is it important to use both eyes when viewing through the microscope?
4. Why is direct sunlight not use as light source to view objects under the
microscope?
4.4. Abstraction: Discussion on the parts and proper handling of microscope.
(10 minutes) What are the rules in handling the microscope?
What are the parts of the microscope?
How does each part function?
4.5. Application: Say:
(5 minutes) A representative in each group will be called to demonstrate the proper handling of
microscope.
Assessment Matrix

7. Wrap-Up/ “The human mind prefers something which it can recognize to something for which it has
Concluding no name, and, whereas thousands of persons carry field glasses to bring horses, ships, or
