4.1. Introductory A. Preliminaries

(suggested activity) Present two objects to the students (one microscopic object, the other one is not.)
(5 minutes) C. Questions:
Can you see the objects clearly?
What device can help us view small objects? The teacher will continue asking
questions until the student would answer microscope.
4.2. Activity Let the students do Activity on The Microscope, Its Parts and their Functions Part A.
(25 minutes) ( LM. PP.110- 112)
Say;
1. Choose a group leader, scribe, and resource manager. The group leader facilitates the
activity, the scribe writes all the observations and the resource manager checks all the
materials.
2. You are provided with activity sheets. Carefully read and understand the instructions.
3. Do your activity in 20 minutes.
4. In 5 minutes, do a group sharing on the result of your activity.
4.3. Analysis Processing of students’ responses. Ask the following questions:
(10 minutes) 1. How do you find the activity?
2. Why is it important to use both hands in carrying the microscope?
3. Why is it important to use both eyes when viewing through the microscope?
4. Why is direct sunlight not use as light source to view objects under the
microscope?
4.4. Abstraction: Discussion on the parts and proper handling of microscope.
