The WISC-V

• The Wechsler Intelligence Scale

for Children—Fifth Edition
(WISC-V) is a widely used
instrument for obtaining a
comprehensive assessment of
general cognitive functioning in
children and adolescents.
• This score is typically
considered the most
representative indicator
of general intellectual
functioning.

L’indice de Comprehension Verbale: L’ICV
(Verbal comprehension index, VCI)

• The Verbal Comprehension Index (VCI) measures the ability

to access and apply acquired word knowledge. Specifically, it
reflects the ability to verbalize meaningful concepts, think
about verbal information, and express oneself using words.

auditory information in conscious
awareness, which requires attention

and auditory discrimination
L’indice de Vitesse de Traitement: L’IVT
( processing Speed Index, PSI)

• The Processing Speed Index (PSI) measures

speed and accuracy of visual identification,
decision making, and decision
implementation. Performance on the PSI is
related to visual scanning, visual
discrimination, short-term visual memory,
visuomotor coordination, and
concentration. The PSI assessed the ability
to rapidly identify, register, and implement
decisions about visual stimuli.

Note !
• You should always calculate the age of the child on the day of the
assessment to know which items you should administer!

This means : age of child – date of assessment ( M/D/Y )

You can use online age calculator ☺

Scoring process
• Raw score to Scaled score → to get final scores for indexes and FSIQ

• Scaled score to composite score → to get indexes and FSIQ

• Always pay attention to AGE on the manual
