Examiner:
If you could choose, would you choose to
live at present or in the past?
Me:
If I were given the chance, I would definitely prefer to
experience a life in the ancient time, mainly for the reason
that interpersonal relations were way more stable and long
lasting. As a famous poem says, the life in the past was so
slow that you could love a person only. Suffering from the
fragile social network in the fast-developing society,
modern life is obviously more lonely and insecured, which
leads to the deep anxiety among the general public. Apart
from that, the simple life pattern assisted our ancestors to
appreciate the beauty of life and nature as well as the
basic issue about happiness, rather than being distracted
by the spinning contemporary outer world like the citizens
now, which easily results in the lost of human beings.
Examiner:
However, people in the past suffered a lot from the
horrible diseases, which caused death and poor life
quality. What do you think?
Me:
Well, even though it’s true that the pandemic and fatal
illnesses swept the human world decades ago, however, it
doesn’t mean that the human beings are immortal now.
Despite the advanced medical technology and well-
developed treatment and medication, people still face a
variety of threats on their health issues, including super
virus, flu, cancers, HIV or the awful epidemic coronavirus
that we are fighting against now. On top of them, I believe
the mental disorder is the most hazardous problem, as
most of us have psychological issue consciously or
unconsciously while medication has little effect on curing it.
So I still regard living in the dynasties is a better option for
me since it’s human’s destiny to fight against the diseases,
previously or currently.
